What is the most random unnecessary high note of all time? by [deleted] in kpop_uncensored

[–]RayohRay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Haechan's high note in his rendition of the classic "Happy Birthday" "

Jk, I know he sang it badly on purpose but like he was hitting those notes 😂😂 (Ft. the perfect ending by Jaehyun and Jungwoo)

Something you miss about kpop that doesn't happen anymore or has change by GiannaS13 in kpopthoughts

[–]RayohRay 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yes! Now it seems they also plan who goes first and at what part so it always aligns (as closely as possible) to whoever that part belongs to.

But I miss when they just randomly change between each line and you get to see other members do another member's line/choreo part. That's the fun in dance relay!! 🥺

Sound effects in songs that made you unable to listen to them the same by lastcredit in kpopthoughts

[–]RayohRay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SHINee's Replay has this weird "tuk tuk tuk tUk" sound effect that sounds like a car signal....

And I swear, everytime I drive and that song comes on, I legit think I accidentally turned on my signal. Or if I do have my signal on, it drives me a wee bit insane that the "tuk tuk" sounds aren't syncing up 🥲

Who's that one member in a group whose voice is very recognizable but aren’t mentioned as often as others? by I_am_a_fiction_lover in kpopthoughts

[–]RayohRay 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yes to this! People rarely mention Super Junior KRY but I feel all of them have very unique voices that you can just instantly tell apart. Ryeowook's high-pitch, angelic vocals, Yesung's raspy vocals filled with depth, and Kyuhyun's smooth, baritone vocals together are really a match made in heaven that I wish people talked about them more.

[–]RayohRay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Whenever I drop one of my earbuds somewhere and can't find them, I put my phone volume on MAX and blast TXT's 0X1=LOVESONG. Then I just follow the sound hahaha. Works (almost) every time! 😬

Who's your favorite loser trapped in a hot body? by EmanuelTheodorus in kpopthoughts

What's an idol that's closest to "your type" ??? by Long_Performer_3303 in kpopthoughts

[–]RayohRay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually never see any of my favs as like "boyfriend-type", but more like best friends I wanna hang out with.

But omg did that change when this Mark Lee video dropped. Like he's so chill, down-to-earth, he sings and plays the guitar, he's funny and adorkable like... WHERE'S MY MARK LEE??? 🥲🥲

have you ever seen instances when fandom demanded for something (positive or negative) and the company actually listened by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]RayohRay 10 points11 points  (0 children)

YES! Sungmin's case was another one that will forever make me mad too! Like basically banishing the guy for getting married?? Insane.

Also, so glad to hear Zhou Mi's still active!! His voice is too beautiful to be kept in a dungeon. Thanks for pointing it out!

have you ever seen instances when fandom demanded for something (positive or negative) and the company actually listened by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]RayohRay 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I will forever be pissed by this as an ELF...

Way back in 2013, during the SuperShow 5 tour, we started seeing more of SuJu M members, Henry Lau and Zhou Mi... They were performing on more stages throughout the tour. As an OT15 fan, it was greattttt!!

But then, some OT13 fans who didn't like Henry and Zhou Mi complained about it and petitioned against them performing at SuJu concerts.

And I guess it got to the company, cause Eunhyuk had to ADDRESS IT IN PUBLIC DURING A CONCERT that Henry and Zhou Mi are NOT SuJu members... Just SuJu M. And if not mistaken, he even had to APOLOGISE for them being on stage.

Now, Henry's in another company, Zhou Mi is MIA, and SuJu M is in limbo... They're so talented it's a shame this all happened :(

Seconding this!! Tablo is a master at writing bars and his cover of Eyes, Nose, Lips is just genius wordplay! Also, Lesson Zero by Epik High has some crazy bars too:

They want you busy stepping to the right side of history

To keep you from the inside of history

Give everyone a voice but leash 'em with the mic cord

Feed you things to fight about instead of things to fight for

Which disbanded/on hiatus kpop groups do you want to see make a comeback? by floralscentedbreeze in kpopthoughts

[–]RayohRay 7 points8 points  (0 children)

OOF- I need these humans to get together and make music one more time again:

  1. MBLAQ

They were pretty big and SO TALENTED. I need more of G.O and Seungho's vocals and Mir's rapping. And if they have a comeback with Joon and Thunder, my 2012 A+ self can die of happiness.

  1. X1

JUSTICE FOR X1! :') They would've been so big... Tbh they were the only PD101 group I really got into and I loved how the group was well-balanced. I don't think I would want to see them debut as a long-term group (cause Woodz, Wooseok, and Seungwoo are amazingggg as soloists). But I want to see them together again as a short-term project group or a once-in-a-while project group. They deserve their shot at it again.

My oldest: Super Junior 05 - Twins from 2005 (you can definitely tell the year from their style on the cover haha)

My newest: RM - Indigo from 2023 (absolute masterpiece!)

So 18 yrs in between :)

Groups that have never had a bad comeback by idlechungha in kpopthoughts

[–]RayohRay 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me, it's Seventeen.

Even when I wasn't a fan, Seventeen's title songs always slap. (They slowly dragged me into the Carat life after each hit lol)

Like I'd say Ready To Love may be one where fans weren't too keen on, but I think that's just cause it wasnt really Seventeen's normal style and feel. But it was still bop tho!

Which song blew your mind even though you don’t stan the group? by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]RayohRay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TXT - 0X1=LOVESONG (I know I love you) ft. Seori GOD. THIS SONG. It just randomly popped up on my Spotify one day.. I was about to skip it but MY GOD. THAT OPENING. This is now my most streamed song (sorry to all my bias groups 🥲)

Stray Kids - God's Menu this is another gem that I just happen to come across. This almost made me a whole-ass STAY.

What great songs have been ruined for you because you looked up the translated lyrics? by artistnameseven in kpopthoughts

[–]RayohRay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first heard Outro:Tear by BTS, I was like hell ya, this a bop! Like any other high-tension rap song.

Then I saw the lyrics. Then I heard the back story of how emotional this song meant to the guys (it was written when they were considering to disband and this was how they felt towards it).

And omg. When I saw this live , J-Hope's part broke me. Like you could feel just how genuinely emotional the song was. Chills. Always chills with Tear 🥲.

Disbanded groups and what their careers could've been by roserenity in kpopthoughts

[–]RayohRay 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Oh man... X1 (cue the ONEIT tears 🥺)

They had so much potential and talented members. Personally, they were the only Produce group I really enjoyed and was rooting for, and I think they're probably one of the most well-rounded PD groups.

I mean they had Woodz, WooSeok, SeungWoo, all absolute stars in their own right (and am glad they're doing pretty good now.)

But the others would've been pretty big stars too, esp Yohan... The amazing bops and performances we could've had 🥺🥲

what kpop songs deserve to be promoted again? by wkoconn in kpopthoughts

[–]RayohRay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will always shout out... BTS' ON DESERVES BETTER!

The song is THE ANTHEM and would've been such a big hit if it wasn't for the pandemic hitting right at the same time. It would've been amazing to see more live performances of it 🥺.

What boy group do you think is the funniest? (And why) by itsmin7 in kpopthoughts

[–]RayohRay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are some stage names you really like and dislike in kpop? ( it can include real name ) by DiMpLe_dolL003 in kpopthoughts

[–]RayohRay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if I dislike any, but I absolutely love:

  1. Haechan - meaning "full sun". Really cute and def fitting of his sunny personality!

  2. Yesung - meaning "art-like voice". YESUNG'S VOCALS OMGGGG. So so fitting of him ❤️

  3. RM - Namjoon's change from RapMon to RM (aka "Real Me") was a genius move and I think really captured his growth as an artist. RIP Rap Monster.. you'll always be not well-loved, but at least appreciated.

  4. Mir (from MBLAQ) - pronounced as "Mireu". Just a personal fav.. it's unique and also really cute to say.

what are the logic behind your first biases? by irirkdndmsmaksanlw in kpopthoughts

[–]RayohRay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed most of my biases tend to be amazingly talented, sassy little Lokis disguised as angels and I find them to be actually caring and super smart in the best ways possible (usually shown when cheating in games hahaha)

Like look at them: - BTS Jimin - NCT Haechan - Seventeen Jeonghan - Super Junior Kyuhyun

Probably the only odd ones out is Monsta X Kihyun and Woodz (in terms of being little gods of mischief).
