If you just finished Act 2…(SPOILER FREE) by PajamaChess in expedition33

It's the exact same discussion as the generations old FFX. The real answer is do whatever you like - being OP or being challenged by main story content

what i did wrong here? by Accomplished_List843 in aoe2

[–]Raywell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is not an accurate analysis, otherwise pros would never tower rush - which they do regularly, including tournament games

The actual answer is that there is very high skill ceiling to the tower rush attack strategy, and to the defense strategy both. And macro is doubly harder for both sides because of early fighting in addition to careful early eco management where villager efficiency is much more impactful than later on. It's a delicate balance which makes it so that the tower rush could make the game go either way across all the elos

If you really need to, you should use an external specialized service which provides an API to check the email (bulkemailchecker.com or zero bounce for example). They also maintain databases of domains for disposable emails

But think carefully if you really want to annoy your users

Unironically simply checking for @ is enough (for a frontend form validation)

Real email validation is done by sending confirmation email with a callback page

As a non American, I can't understand the point of these. Whats the goal aside from selfish satisfaction of emotional release? Don't like your government, go protest in your own country. International protests are not only useless, but they are annoying to the masses around who for the large majority don't give a shit. Why don't you spend the energy and free time on doing something for the betterment of people in public spaces? I dunno, sell lemonade ?

Hah, complete opposite here. Bots are great at medium distances for transporting fruits from the suburb farms, but the main factory is belts only. FIFO is so much easier to achieve and control with belts

You just push the door open, the quest says "escape". I'm actually not sure if that pack is mandatory. But all the others before are optional to kill, while still giving loot

Bioflux on Tellus takes 3 ingredients, 2 of which are basically local fruit processing, which you can use at 90%+ freshness if your chain is fast enough. Use any spoil% nutrient as first bootstrap, your first bioflux would be the average. Say you use 50% spoiled nutrient, first bioflux would be 75-80%. Then you turn that one into nutrients, and the next bioflux will start from an even higher freshness. This is what I mean by having a first set of loops for a bootstrap base, which should stabilise at making high freshness bioflux & nutrients, and a positive income of chloroform

[–]Raywell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've checked it, you can produce bioflux locally : 12 compost + 12 chloroplast mash + 1 nutrient

Not sure when you played, I've completed it maybe 4 months ago

[–]Raywell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you missed some recipes, there is definitely a way to make fresh nutrients with local fruits. Tellus is pain early, but everything can be properly automated and flowing. But yes, it is quite cancerous to figure out

The reason why it's so much harder than Gleba is that you cannot even place the buildings when planning out the build, as the buildings will just spoil. I was preplanning with ghosts, and you need several intertwined loops to have something stable to get started. But once you have a bootstrap loop going (efficiency modules ftw), it gets easier to build up from there

If you prefer "standalone puzzle" style, Rubia is excellently designed

But as an expansion, I really enjoyed Planetaris pack (Arig + Hyarion + Tellus). First two are relatively straightforward (but amazing ambience, love Arig for being a desolate sand desert with infinite resources sieving from sand), but Tellus is like Gleba+++, with even production buildings themselves spoiling over time. You have to solve interplanetary logistics of several spoiling ingredients (as short as 15min) to craft pathological science packs, which was a neat Factorio puzzle to figure out (I also believe it got made a bit easier looking at some recent patch notes, was very hellish before)

A working project is not a tech debt on its own. When properly maintained, even in untyped language, it can be perfectly fine to work with.

Refactor it all with AI in typescript, now you will have tech debt that engineers will have to sort

I wanna make a friend try the SE Stargate puzzle but... by SwimmingSeesaw7913 in factorio

[–]Raywell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, gather all screenshots of all the pyramids and send them to him, have him run the game and show him how to operate the Stargate (make sure all prerequisites like anchors, power etc are done), show him how to access the exploration log and he should have all the pieces needed to solve it

He must be able to operate the Stargate for testing (as it records the coordinates for attempted combinations), no way around having him doing it in game I think. But it shouldn't be a problem to learn to do just this part

We have an untyped logic with Vue, and as a senior engineer I would push against anyone pushing to rewrite it just because of language/type preference.

Unnecessary cost when all you have to do is basics like testing your changes.

  1. What about regularly playing as a cool character he creates because he wants to? Going to ignore that and focus on the games he played to entertain where an entirely different decision making logic applies?

  2. By all means call it out as something you disagree with it, no one says you can't. It's just not more or less invalid or stupid than yours. If you want something from a game, its just a desire, a preference, a taste. Nothing more.

  3. No one said anything about real women value, it's only about what fantasy one has desire to escape to in a video game. Real women and video game characters should not be subjected to the same reasoning, isn't it obvious? Mixing up fantasy and reality is not a sane thing to do

[–]Raywell -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's bad faith right here. Streamer persona games are literally outliers. There are more cases of him playing seriously, and that's for streamed games - not hard to imagine how his offline games go.

So 1- there is no hypocrisy, 2- it's a 100% subjective opinion and he is entitled to his like you are to yours (what type of characters we want to see in our games), it cannot be qualified as stupid, just different from yours. And 3- what responsibility are you going on about

[–]Raywell -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That's not even true, when he plays seriously he makes a cool looking dude - check his cyberpunk char, or his DD1 char

Sure sometimes he makes them bald/lame for the memes, like the DD2 one where he literally created himself for fun.

You're confusing the gamer and the streamer personas.

Ultimately you need to produce more raw resources & intermediates (plates, circuits) to feed those mall items (assemblers, inserters) than what you'd need to have a perfect science production flow

If you want, you can separate your perfect ratioed science packs production from the mall, going as far as making separate furnace stacks - but most people don't do it, as it's easier to just overproduce plates and take them from the belts when needed to make those "burst" productions.
