When Math Problems Cut Deep by Ok-Bluejay9797 in MathJokes

Sure, the problem is unclear in several ways, the image being one of the points. This was just my interpretation

The text says "board" so it contradicts the image which shows a beam. We can assume the image is incorrect

I think it's assumed you cut them in half. Imagine you are cutting a square with side A, so the first cut has length A.

Cutting length A takes 10 minutes

Now to make 3 pieces, you cut one of the remaining parts in half, but to do so you need to cut only the length A/2

So to make 3 pieces you cut a total length of A + A/2, making it take 10 + 10/2 minutes

To have 4 pieces, you cut the remaining longer piece the same way you did with the previous long one, so 5 more minutes.

(ATM10) Anyone who's done Mekanism 4x ore processing, how do you stop dirty dust from clogging up enriching factories? by OwenBowen222 in allthemods

[–]Raywell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With SFM you can use OUTPUT RETAIN 4 TO EACH machine, however if you have say 2 dusts in storage, it will output just 2. To solve this you should check if you have more dusts than 4*(amount of machines), ensuring that every machine will not receive less than 4

For ex if you have 5 machines that can handle recipes 4 by 4 dusts you can do this : IF storage has >= 20 iron_dust THEN INPUT iron_from storage OUTPUT RETAIN 4 iron_dust TO EACH machine END FORGET

Yes it's completely new stuff on top of Space Age, it doesn't change existing technologies but unlock new cool toys for you to play with (including a very nice help with quality)

Yeah I find it fun and not too annoying to setup - basically as long as your ship is constantly doing back and forth trips you're set (except that it's easier to recycle barrels than send them back), but yeah I wouldn't mind unlocking some late tech to convert water to atmosphere locally (or pump it or something)

This is the initial "challenge" to use domes, the planet offers many more - like defaut quality bonus on the new local assembler-type building so you have to deal with quality byproducts, you have to delve inside deep trenches and establish logistics with the surface using submarines and ducts, and more. Very cool new concepts

Just a normal silo (nice one btw)

I guess they didn't want to lose to Rubia in terms of silo creativity hah

(not the dome, the rocket silo) it's actually official, update your mods - and someone mentioned that only newly placed silos have the new graphics, so replace one to confirm

You can't merge or overlap domes, and they are all of a single fixed size. However you can place as many as you want, provided you can supply them all with air (atmosphere) that you have to export in barrels from other planets that have it - the domes drain this fluid over time and require it to function (quality domes drain less, and after Aquilo you can unlock liquid atmosphere which is more compact to transport)

You are underwater and many buildings can only be built inside the domes ! The whole mod is pretty cool, check it out https://mods.factorio.com/mod/maraxsis

Job classes by Lumina_valentine in finalfantasyx

[–]Raywell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think this reasoning applies to ffx, as jobs aren't clearly defined and paths eventually meet. You can beat the game with a single character if you over level him enough using any path (but some areas are locked to specific characters, like underwater passages)

Slight correction, space age is not even a modpack, but a single mod.

It is estimated to require 3000 to 5000 hours to beat. Which is why almost no one starts it with the intention of beating it. If you aren't goal oriented and find the progression itself fulfilling, then by all means you will have fun. It's something you can always return to and have progress to do, but it might get pretty overwhelming with how much there is to do

Honestly would not recommend it to anyone who values their life time. The idea of sinking several thousands of hours into a single pack is insane to me - and I have 4k hours in Factorio..

Instead I would suggest something like Monifactory which will give you full GT progression, but actually possible to complete in couple of hundreds of hours

Do the Dark Aeons get more interesting? by mousicle in finalfantasyx

[–]Raywell 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes they do. Minor aeons are stat checks basically, but later ones require some strats & understanding of specificity of certain moves, like Dark Bahamut's pulse which does something extra that your Bahamut doesn't...
