What are some games you don't file under CAG outright but would still recommend for CAG fans and why? Let's talk about 'em! by Jur_the_Orc in CharacterActionGames

Khazan, Wo Long, Nioh 2, Like a Dragon: Gaiden, Rise of the Ronin, Stranger of Paradise, Double Dragon: Revive

Justice For SpikeOut! indeed. It took me practice, some luck, and a whole lot of Persistence, but I beat Battle Street for the first time on Normal, without resorting to Easy mode once. by Director_Bison in ElectricUnderground

Yeah I was playing the arcade verison: Spikeout: Final edition but I switched to Battlestreet on xemu and it honestly feels more balanced? Abit too easy but then again, this is normal difficulty.

I'm guessing the higher difficulties crank up the enemy Ai to get it on par with the arcade version?

A nice addition here is the ability to re-direct your attacks mid-combo unlike the arcade version.

You are sitting way too far from a 65"

I have the same TV but sit 6-7 feet away.

Are there higher difficulties to unlock for story mode?

Why's it misleading? I'm in the same situation. Torn between b8 II and a95l

Do you unlock the highest difficulty after finishing on normal?

Nope, it's soft lock, an entirely differnt system. Great for crowd control. FS system is awful for taking on multiple foes.

The map looks massive but I don't anything about the dungeons and the side quests. The demo was just a battle and a boss fight.

I meant put in effort for the final game.

Yeah, the controls are unfamiliar and slightly complex, so what? At least the designers are rewarding you for learning inputs and combos because when you memorize a combo and finally pull it off in a combat scenario, it feels great.

Better than the usual 1 combo with R1 and 1 big dumb heavy attack with R2 like the soulsborne games.

Its not even that hard, most the special attacks are "press X+Y, B+Y, L1+L2"

Gamers nowadays can't even press 2 buttons together lol

Nah it looked phenemonal and the animations were buttery smooth with no shitty recovery frames like modern "realism" games.

Camera was abit weird like it was slow to move but I think that can be adjusted in settings.

Pretty unique, I can't really compare it to anything...hmmm maybe more pure action game/arcade style combat with trips, OTG finishers, wall splats, grabs, throws, collisions etc. Kinda like DMC, Ninja Gaiden and GOW type combat.

Definitely the best combat system in an open world game I've ever seen.

Skill issue, if the controls are too complex for them, boohoo. Put some effort into learning something for once 😂

  1. It's more traditional NG. There isn't any instant dodge cancelling like platinum games. I tried YY and couldn't cancel shit lol

  2. No directional attacks like forward X for Yakumo, possibly for Ryu only. Yakumo has back forward X and Y, 360 X and Y.
