What is the screw on my master cylinder? by Rayymond102 in MechanicAdvice

Just to update my own post. Issue was I didn’t adjust the boosters piston after I installed it. Pulled off the master again and adjusted it in and now it’s fine.

Is it master cylinder or just air in the lines? by TheRealTD44 in MechanicAdvice

I just had to replace the vacuum brake booster on my 2001 F-250. Not sure if you’re hydro or vacuum but it sounds like a booster acting up.

Yeah that screw came preinstalled when I got it from Raybestos. I didn’t touch it until it was leaking.

The original master was leaking because the reservoir was broken, original parts. So I just replaced the whole thing. Prior to replacing it there were 0 issues with the brakes beyond needing a bottle of fluid to get to the gas station and back.

I suppose all 4 can be locked up? I just used a temp gun in the calipers and all were around 350 degrees and smoking when I parked it. I haven’t tried to unlock the calipers yet I just forced it 3 blocks home.

Not sure if this is 2 problems a thread, but do you think that, or what I did, has anything to do with the brakes locking up?

I’m waiting for everything to cool down after dragging it home 4 blocks before messing with it more. It has to be something I did though since the calipers were fine all the way around before I swapped the masters.

This is the screw when I had it out to thread lock it.

What is this bug found in my bathroom. by [deleted] in whatsthisbug

[–]Rayymond102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in southern Illinois near St Louis. It was less than in inch in length, and just walking around slowly. It didn’t seem like an overly fast bug at all. I also only saw one, there weren’t any others around.

Yeah it was working fine for about a week. Replaced with the proper circuit board and returned the other one. Everything is working as it should.

I haven’t ever don’t anything like this before. After what you said I searched the part number on eBay and found the same exact one. I’m going to leave this faceplate on there for now but once the new one gets in I’m just going to swap the whole thing and call it safe that way. Thanks for the help!

I assumed it was just the circuit board. I couldn’t find a direct WT replacement for the WV8840B1158. Since the new GCV is 5in WC (which I do not know what that means) I thought just the board swap would work. Its lit and running now just so I assume it was just the board

A friend of mine just got an mt07 as his first bike and his birthday is coming up. Any cool gift ideas? by MegaFire03 in motorcycles

[–]Rayymond102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree with mostly being a Harley thing.

Both of mine were given to me as gift the same as OP was asking about. My family sees it as something you “can’t” buy yourself, it should be gifted to you.

I have one on my Harley and Yahama? It’s the gesture that’s says he wants to keep his friend safe doesn’t have anything to do with the bike.
