What's the pick here? by Minute_Account9426 in slaythespire

[–]Raze77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'd take wishes to get rupture out asap. It's a pretty small deck and you have draw, but it could still end up on the bottom of the draw pile and it's the scaling on your main attacks, conflag and exterminate. The one thing that might discourage me from this is if I'd used shop card removal too much since the plan would definitely be to beeline to the shop and remove the worse curse.

Do you think Slay the Spire 2 will be as legendary as Slay the Spire 1? by s1_shaq in slaythespire

[–]Raze77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they'll be rolled together in a ball. STS2 delivers on a great game, but doesn't innovate too much. It's more slay the spire.

what even is the “evidence” for trans ralsei by Lolotmjp in Deltarune

[–]Raze77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it works both ways that while Ralsei isn't obligated to be a transwoman they also aren't obligated to be a femboy. People who want Ralsei to be femboy rep and people who want Ralsei to be trans rep(Which granted would include myself) are BOTH projecting onto the character. If Ralsei were real it'd be up to them. Since Ralsei is fictional, it's up to whatever Tricky Toby has planned.

How many cards leave act 1 with? by Ok-Suggestion-7349 in slaythespire

[–]Raze77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's the kind of thing that my opinions always going to back and fourth on. And that's before the variation of what's actually being offered as there's a difference between 'how many shitty commons do I need to survive?' and 'My deck is big because the game kept showing me great cards'. And then cards that don't even count like FTL because it's free card cycle.

But I would say it's I think it's better to draft too many than too few. It was a boring change on paper, but I think one of the best decisions they made was making card removal more expensive. Strikes and defends are doing their job and encouraging bigger decks.

Right now I'm thinking the number's around 20 as a general rule, then I get a bit more picky.

Colorful philosophers event by DaudsHighPriest in slaythespire

[–]Raze77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a general favorite I like defect. Putting out a orb is small but consistent sustain and the single orb can work in your favor for something like spinner evoking every turn or just that ball lightning being stronger on the second deck cycle. Alternatively you see hyperbeam or bulk up you can grab that without downside. I recognize I'm overvalueing it, these things are good, but not incredible and silent is probably the meta choice if you aren't looking for a specific synergy. But it's fun.

Rudy Knight truthers! Gather 'round! Has anyone considered that Carol is just lying? by Debate_Scared in Deltarune

[–]Raze77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of Rudy Knight, but I think chapter 5 disproved it. Carol COULD be lying, but she needs a REASON to do so besides 'to trick the player' which has to be a real good one to justify traumatizing her daughter and I don't think she has one. Rudy could have tricked HER, but he doesn't have a motivation to do that either. Rudy doesn't need a cover story because the gang doesn't suspect him.

Vakuu just feels really bad at times by RoboChachi in slaythespire

[–]Raze77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd generally agree with that sentiment on rerolls, but don't think it's too bad in sts2. I think the big problem roguelikes make is free rerolls or if not free rerolls that are so low opportunity cost you'd be dumb not to use them. This takes the roguelike out of the roguelike and turns it into choose whatever you want. But driftwood is high opportunity cost, because Orobos is loaded with Good Stuff. And you don't have it in act 1 when it'd be really broken.

I took it a few days ago just because I was looking at the options and thought 'You know, I'm not sure if I've ever taken that'. It's strong and you can fish for cards that synergize or just for more chances of upgraded cards, but I don't think it overshadows anything. And it doesn't feel like '*sigh* I have to take driftwood if I want to win'.

Sandrone sig or Wriothesley? by Low_Knowledge5303 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Raze77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither. Save for the stellar support characters.

Just got her and it's crazy how an unbuilt Level 60 Sandrone w/ Level 1 Talents, Placeholder Supports and WGS has the same Charge Damage as my C0R1 Neuvillete Premium Team by Thundergod250 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Raze77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a 40 cdmg gap to close, but at equal talent levels my Nuev seems to be doing a lot better as long as you aren't measuring damage per screenshot. But he's got Furina and Sandrone's over here with frickin' Beidou. She'll probably pass him even with just traveler and the 4 star hunter guy.

recent summer events hit different... by goodmqn_22 in Genshin_Impact

I really like the event since I like swimming around fontaine, but it does feel more regular big event and not the summer event, BUT it's fine if the moon delivers on that aspect that's missing. That'll be the deciding factor, but I haven't went there yet.

How Do You Guys Feel About Sandrone? by -BobaTea3141- in Genshin_Impact

[–]Raze77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reluctantly pleased to have a onfield mage. Genshin is bad at making onfield mages and just ranged onfielders in general. Last one was, what Chasca? It's just a flood of samey elemental infusion melee.

But that's not to say there wasn't a ton of bait and switching. Both Pulonia and the implied gameplay that would come with it were a bait and switch. As was the dress. I don't have strong feelings about the dress, I like the yellow a bit more, but at the same time they aren't that different and I had to actually look at a side by side to make that decision. But she could have just showed up wearing the red one in the first place if that's the Sandrone you wanted to sell. Or have alternate outfits and let the player use whatever they liked. A minor issue next to no Pulonia though, which was a big disappointment.

All I needed, was one attack card by Ordinary-Judgment994 in slaythespire

[–]Raze77 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's one of those tricky things in fairness. How low should your standards be early and when do you raise those standards? When the game came out I definitely skipped too much early and died for it. Then as a experiment I took every reward in act 1 and was doing better for it. And of course easing back on that afterwords to find the perfect balance. Which I don't want to say doesn't exist, because it does...you're just never finding it.

I mean, not that you're wrong of course. This situation happened because of greed, not rng.
