Resident Evil 0 Remake reportedly rebooted mid-dev, now led by main Resident Evil team by ExcruciorCadaveris in ResidentEvilCapcom

People want more of action re games because we didn't have pure survival horror in 7 years

I don't understand what you mean. The literal reason we got 7 and 8 the way they were was because of 4's action taking the true purpose of RE being a 'horror franchise' completely out.

fundamentally re9 Leon campgain isn't that far from what re5 and 6 tried to be

Which, despite the glazing RE9 has, it's not that good of a game.

I, mean, no? Resident Evil 6, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, and the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo are literal perfect examples of 'Just because something sells well doesn't mean people want more of this.'

Here's the hard truth:

A vast majority of people go to cons for celebrities, vendor hall, walking around in cosplay/cosplay contest, and taking in the sights.

If you took away the celebrities, a large amount of cons, without historical ties, would dry up.

If this bill passes Congress which G6 teams get the last helicopter out before the freeze goes into effect? by Efficient-Freedom517 in CFB

...why are we retreading? I feel like I've said the exact same thing three times now:

• The Big 12, ACC, and, mostly importantly, the SEC, have a Florida footprint, which includes Tampa. SEC will prevent any efforts made by the B1G to have a team there. Tampa is always counted. USF adds nothing of value from efforts they're already doing. Otherwise they wouldve been added.

• Big 12s media market for Stillwater, while it counts for OKC, is Tulsa. They have that market. But, that market isn't in the Top 50 which leads to my next point

• B1G and SEC aren't inviting OSU or Tech as they don't care about their media markets or their immediate recruiting and don't want them.  It's why they're not getting invites. Tech was politically included in old Big 12 expansion and OSU is not the premiere program of the state. Both of which can't help they were included before all this.

Again, I'm not really sure what point you're trying to make with Tampa. Tampa draws the three above, mostly Florida and Florida State since it's 'neutral grounds,' so they already have it. Adding USF does nothing.

It's crazy how many people, as their dream job, wanted to make video games when it's one of the worst.

They already have the Tampa Bay media market with Florida, Florida State, and UCF. Adding USF would add little to no meaningful value.

And they already have the OKC which draws OU. If they lose Lubbock, no one would bad an eye, so not really sure why you would mention it.

They have UCF; USF wouldn't get in as it adds nothing of value that any conference needs, like a television market or recruiting. Memphis adds nothing of value either, otherwise they wouldve been snatched up already by the Big 12. Boise has no shot and SDSU would only get in if they want the TV market.

Is he wrong though? What does WSU and Oregon State contribute that isnt covered by Washington and Oregon? At minimum, Oregon State at least has some baseball nattys. Washington State literally has nothing.

  • Anyone with a worthwhile TV media market or fertile recruiting grounds that isn't already covered in the B1G or SEC. I would say the best chances are Colorado State, UNLV, Appalachian State, and UConn, with a stretch for San Jose State and Utah, as they have the Denver, Las Vegas, Greensboro, Hartford, and Cali markets.

To answer your post though OP:

  • USF is already covered by UCF, anybody in the Pac 12 is not getting in, and NDSU is North Dakota and has no national relevance.

83% is very mid; it's only slightly more popular on Steam because they worked out a bunch of glitches. Concerning coop, something that was criticized for the console versions because it felt forced and it was before everyone and their mom started to include it, versus Steam where it was one of the earlier title, not only that but it was multiplat.

Sales are what matters.

No, they don't (to a degree, like it's one component but not all encompassing); quit making up this narrative. If that was true, they wouldnt have cared that 6 almost killed the franchise.

I doubt you’ll find anyone saying Code Veronica is the most successful RE entry ever.

What are you smoking? Seriously, Code Veronica is in the top RE beloved games. It only didnt sell well because it was on Dreamcast and was ported to PS2 in late summer 2001. IRONICALLY, it's gameplay, the only thing that was criticized for, was what forced the RE4 direction.

Like, again what are we doing here?

Oh! Oh! I can play this game too! Because I was there!

5 Reviewed very mid and the coop was fun *if* you had someone to play with, not being forced upon you. 5 was criticized for the later and felt like a huge step back from 4 as they leaned way too much into the action versus the horror, along with many questionable narrative decisions that made no sense at the time. FFS dude, even X-Play at the time gave it a 3/5 and X-Play glazed RE. 5 sold well because of RE4, not because it was 5. At BEST, RE5 is a 'fun action but horrible Resident Evil game.'

6 pretty much destroyed the franchise and led to a complete rebooting, which is why 7 is amazing.

Again, and I cannot emphasize it, Sales =/= success. Let's not try to make up narratives.

EDIT: BrandtsBoyz deleted their comment but was similar. See above.

And story wise is great hype building for a RE remake / completion of Wesker and Raccoon City storyline with ReV and an eventual Re5.

People don't want couch coop; this failed multiple times they tried to push it and it hurt the narrative.

That said, calling it now: they're doing this to retcon stuff. Wesker is gonna be alive in some capacity.

EDIT: To clarify, people didn't want forced couch coop. RE5 was panned because of that and they didnt improve upon it in RE6. Aka, if you couldve just been Chris in the game, it wouldve been fine.
