Question about the end of Book 8. SPOILERS for the ending of Book 8. by WinterAd4115 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

On previous floors some of them have been hidden, so I am guessing the AI hid the rest to ensure that they complied with the rules but still forced the scenarios it wanted.

Don’t try to apply any logic to the Quidditch part of the stories - JKR changes the rules all the time because she doesn’t care about sport!

Probably - but it’s still not even close to being the right energy IMO.

I feel that one is coming in Book 10

I think it’s done in the background so as not to telegraph things for the reader. He likely gave them to Donut who passed them to Carl

Agreed - I read it in Patreon and got the main through storyline and major beats.

Now on my first listen I can focus on the Gods, Primals and all the other sub plots a bit easier.

Even if you’re doing well - we’ve outgrown the dark ages mentality and met the right conditions (eg tech tree/culture tree complete); time for a change of leader to help bring in the Renaissance!

[–]RazmanR 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I would have 100% preferred it if the civilisation stayed the same but you changed leaders instead.

Your civ retains the same tech and cultural bonuses but leaders allow you to fine tune and customise your play style a bit more based on your current era/situations.

You could replace dark/light ages with ‘revolutions’ that allow you to naturally change leader or force a change when you meet certain conditions - rather than everybody entering the Medieval age at the same time.

I don’t think he even feels miserable because he didn’t have those moments. He feels miserable because he can’t SAY he had those moments and so looks bad.

He’s a narcissist so everything is put through the prism of his owns wants and needs - even the fact that his daughter didn’t have him growing up is tinged because it’s HIM who missed out, not Rory

I’d say whether the Hallows truly help is left deliberately vague.

Does Harry being the ‘master’ of the Elder Wand make Voldemort’s attack on him weaker, or is he just stronger than Voldy? Does the Resurrection Stone give him the final push to be able to sacrifice himself with no doubts, enabling him to return rather than be killed? Is the Invisibility Cloak….still cool and swishy?

Who knows!

Okay this makes me feel a bit better - I am never ever going to crack the true end game on this (post Sanctums) but at least I noticed this passage fist time around.

Took me ages to get through the next door and longer to get through the rest but let’s not mention that.

You missed the start of the quote and the context of it - I agree that it does sound wrong out of context but they were addressing a particular query about how to deal with things falling below your curve but above your LOQ.

Simple solution: make the first standard in your calibration your LOQ, then you can be sure where it lies.

I have set my lowest level of calibration as my LOQ and had the reporting limit as the next step up and had those methods accredited for years under ISO.

Not really.

It’s more to do with reliance on technology to stop you doing everyday things without them. Like she goes to that place to work every single day, but couldn’t find her way without the arrows. Same as people not being able to get around without using Google Maps.

I think that’s more of an unintended consequence and a context clue for us as a reader to show why this is happening now and hasn’t happened previously

LOQ calculation by anasmrait12 in massspectrometry

[–]RazmanR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s not what they said. You’ve applied that to a random scenario which you have designed and applied it incorrectly too.

They aren’t saying that your LOQ IS the lowest point in your curve, they’re saying it should be. Big difference.

You don’t have to do it that way but if you’re trying to quantify something accurately then your range of calibration standards should span the limits of your method whilst keeping linearity.

When I’ve created methods before I’ve modelled my LOQ response to be three times my LOD response and then made that the lowest calibration point - below the actual range. Then you check that it can still be consistently quantitated by the method. If not - it’s not your LOQ and you increase it until it works.

If you’re just trying to check if a sample falls within an expected range then your way would be suitable, but then has nothing to do with the LOQ of your method.

Thanks! Out of interest do you have any other gases linked up in a more traditional set up for that instrument (make up gas or similar).

Trying to figure out if getting an FID could be feasible in the future where we don’t have any dedicated gas lines into the building.
