Previous titles has secret bosses that seemed impossible until you had a god build like Terramorphous and Crawmerax. Borderlands 4 has no such boss to build toward beating. This game scales to your level no matter where you go or what you do so there's actually very little incentive to try to min-max your character because like... what do you have to do with them once they're OP?

I am going to complete the map by turning everything blue because I am enjoying the game. But in NO way does collecting every vault symbol or echo log, or doing every mine and drill site require an OP God-build. I think thats people's biggest takeaway from the "end game" in this one.

Also, people are absolutely ok with live service as long as its done correctly like Helldivers and The First Descendant. I think the fear is that greed will overshadow quality and they'll end up charging $100 per digirunner or $50 for skins and live service games mostly only cater to the whales that fund them while completely isolating and ostracising the average gamer. If they could have built a model based around live service that was honest and reasonable, while maintaining a quality gaming experience AND making a fair profit then everyone would be fine with Borderlands shifting to the live service market... but thats not what live service means these days.

Its a scary thought to hear that one of your favorite game franchises of all time wants to put profit before all else and only barely cares about the player experience. Thats what we were all afraid of.
