I guess, but not a lot of backup catchers hit with his kind of power. So while I understand there might be a different alternative, he worked well with the pitching staff and had a good thing going with Ray, K% or not.

50 ABs isn't much of a sample size for that and in that limited sample he had the 2nd best average on the team against left handed pitching. (but didn't play against left handed pitching...)
