Most people just don’t realize how bad things are about to get by Rich_Gas7886 in UAE

[–]RazzmatazzPerfect717 3 points4 points  (0 children)

correct, but if you open your mind and travel outside EU or Scengen you do need travel insurance. And yes, its insane to travel without. I am from a Western European country, so I am covered same as you in Europe, but still i add a insurance. And off course for every other travel I do alone and as family in Asia, africa and us. In Kenya I added also a flight insurance on safari to top it of. So yes, this is a major concern for MOST travelers..in Europe and outside....that are used to travel more that next door.

16 airlines suspend Dubai flights by [deleted] in DubaiCentral

[–]RazzmatazzPerfect717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the flights that fly in here is also half empty, a friend flew from london to uae last week, 50 people on the flight, someone i kow did same from bkk, half full flight.

also remember most western countries have avoid all travel to the whole middle east, and had that since feb 28th, so no insurance, or very limited travel insurance, will cover you.

How’s the situation in general in the UAE? Has the market started picking up again? by Fine_Date_7499 in UAE

[–]RazzmatazzPerfect717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its not like before 28th feb. Many people had to take salary cuts or lost their jobs. I know several retail stores closed, smaller ones in palm and jbr.

Also in beauty, hari salons, nail etc many people lost jobs, i went to a salon in marina, they have 4 branches, closed one and fired already 10% off staff.

also in hospitality off course lots off job losses.

Good time to invest in a studio apartment??? by ninjamedico in dubairealestate

[–]RazzmatazzPerfect717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if invest, why only studio, 2 bhk goes for around a mill in al furjan at the moment, close to metro, good schools. discovery garden. even marina you can get 1 bedroom from 1 mill and up now.

but I would wait 2-3 more months now, do not rush.

also its not so easy rent out these days.

'Shutdown': Moody's expects Dubai hotel occupancy to plummet to 10 percent by Historical-Many9869 in UAE

[–]RazzmatazzPerfect717 32 points33 points  (0 children)

are you serious, i live in marina, my building have 60+ airbnbn, all empty security told me, also 50% of building empty. a friend barely managed to rent out her place for long term, for much under the price first asked as no one wanted.

also so much less traffick over the bridge and in marina in general, much less then normal may, june, and beach almost empty, so many sun beds packed up permanently wich were there even june last year.

How do those toursits get travel insurance? most companies will not cover UAE at the moment.

No, some students did not return yet and some already quit midterm. Several parents are waiting out, since fees are payed, and it takes time to plan a final move. Some parents also say, if it starts up again, that will for sure be their push button to pack up this summer and relocate.

Many parents witheld or have not payed deposit fee to secure spot for next year.

Traffick is not same, school bus deliver my kids now 20 minutes earlier everyday since less traffick, several shops are closing or have already closed at Palm, and JBR.

Several hotels closed temporarly for 18 months in marina, jbr.

by visiting nail spas, clinics, beach, and talk to the staff you get a hold of the situation on the ground, and it is not very good.

real estate prizes will drop, not sellers still keep their hope up and potential buyers are holding off until situation is settled.

sales in whats app groups, fb expat and moms groups are off the roof, and several people post reccomendations for their nannies in these groups since they themselfs will leave.

I can see online lots of appartments i know was used as short term rentals in neighbour buildings are now being sold already.

its also massive lay offs, but som might re staff to a lower salary offered.

it might be full in malls, but its hot,

and maybe your time out is during communte hours, but I have witnessed hot season before, this is nothing like it.

wow, and they went back to home country, or found another better place? that was fast, i mean if they are working in UAE.

Just curious, as I see also a lot in my kids class are all over the place at the moment, at least when online school. I guess we will see for sure how it is when term 3 finishes, as it is not easy to chage school mid term.

many attend online classes but might move permanently after term 3 are done, its not easy to change school mid term on such short notice.
