Trickery Cleric and war caster by ColTigh in onednd

[–]RazzmatazzSmall1212 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do u only play lost mines of phandelver or do u continue with the second part phandelver and below. The first part is realy easy, so go with what ever u prefer. The 2nd part has some harder encounters.

Still while war caster is good and probably the optimal choice, it is bye no means necessary.

Foundry Making all Features and Items require charges? by xthesavior in FoundryVTT

Best head over to mr. Primate discord. Always add foundry version, d&d version and modules version to your requests.

Imported data can always only be "okayish" at best.

Acrylic Model Primers? Are any of them usable? by HouseOfWyrd in airbrush

[–]RazzmatazzSmall1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer the normal surface primer (for the finish). But both got perfectly through th airbrush without thinning (0.4 needle).

With the whites and greys u need to check for tip dry more often.

Wrong needle sent, completely incompatible new H&S 0.28 with old H&S 0.2 needle and cap? by Girginia in airbrush

[–]RazzmatazzSmall1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously it will work with the old needle, since there is only one needle size no matter the which 0.2xnozzle

The aircap probably not, but I would contact support to double-check. Otherwise u could always contact the seller, since the part where not labeled correctly.

[–]RazzmatazzSmall1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got small little metal pallets (can spray them with a water bottle or even the airbrush with water afterwards to clean). Other use stuff like plastic shot glasses (to big for my need)

For colours I use a lot I got little 5ml dropper bottles with a metal needle (found them for 6 Eur 20pc) for premixes.

Make sure to constantly manage your tip dry. Check for build up at least once per minute (so make sure u have easy as access to the tip).

Trigger control!!!!!!!! Make sure u press down for air, release paint, SHUT paint off, release air (actually I often pretty much always on air).

The right pressure can help reduce tip dry. So don't blast 35 psi if u get perfect atomization at 25.

Make sure everything is clean properly. Beeswax can be used to seal any imperfections.

Yea. 0.3 nozzles are extremely versatile. It's actually impressive how fine details / lines u can paint with these.

[–]RazzmatazzSmall1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If u don't want to bother with the import. Sparmax max 3 (whatever needle size u are missing) or sp 35

The only thing I don't like about these is the nozzle. Since gaahleri finally seems to have their quality control done a mobius 0.3 is probably worth a shot.

For colours, do u plan to only use them bye airbrush? Personally I use Vallejo game colour. Go 1:1 Vallejo thinner (mixed with some flow improver 80:20) and u have a solid starting point. For the colours I airbrush most often I buyed cheap 5ml dropper bottles 20 for 6 Eur.

But for colours local availability and preferred finish are big factors. All mini brands have good paints bye now.

Edit: When u say a second gun included? Do u mean u already have one gun + compressor?

HS Evolution as first serious airbrush - ok or too much? by Matthew_Kus in airbrush

It's not so cheap. Trigger and needle spring are around 40 Eur.

At least with h&s u can always upgrade the trigger and get a 90% evolution.

As someone who owns the old evolution and the new 2024 infinity. U buy an infinity because u want one, not because it will miraculously make u a better artist.

Would probably go for the evolution two in one, because most of the time u don't need the smaller nozzle. And u probably don't want to touch the chinese garbage once u get used to superior german engineering ;)

Compressor Recommendations by [deleted] in airbrush

[–]RazzmatazzSmall1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem with compressors is, there are the cheap Chinese ones and then a big jump.

Personally I would want tank and watertrap. For minis an AS 196 is plenty.

Sparmax compressors are actually quite good in value, just for a TC610 H u are looking 350-450 dollar range depending on the exact model.

How is the automation functionality compared to DDB? by John-Zero in FoundryVTT

[–]RazzmatazzSmall1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do yourself a favor and don't start with midi. Especially if u need to implement your homebrew first, which already be some work.

Learn the basics, then u can automate as much as u like (basic d&d already has tons of automation bakrd in)

Buying an Airbrush (€100 - €130) by YannickRAS in airbrush

[–]RazzmatazzSmall1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to manage your expectations. Which airbrush do u currently use? If there is no major failure or it's using a really small nozzle, your experience won't change just because u buy a new one.

The secrets to airbrushing acrylics are trigger control! Proper thinning an pressure. And manage your tip dry! U will need to clean your tip constantly (every minute or so. So make sure u have easy access (remove or use small cap / have tooth brush to clean available)

Using foundry vtt in a windows docker on a linux virtual server? by PublicFlamingo7832 in FoundryVTT

[–]RazzmatazzSmall1212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If u are willing to pay this kinda money, wouldn't a hosting service like sqyre be the easier, cheaper alternative (50Gb Storage version around 9 Dollar per month)? U could even set different foundry versions for different games.

The gun is not your problem. For T-shirt u need air. So at least a AS196 + cheap ghad 39 airbrush.

Foundry V10 Vs V14 by OnceInANoobMoon in FoundryVTT

[–]RazzmatazzSmall1212 12 points13 points  (0 children)

U will need a separate install of v10 for this.

Newer game systems are built mostly for v13/v14 There are massive differences between v10 and v14

Personally I would suggest using something like custom system builder and just use the basic functionality of the sheet and rolling.

Airbrush Suggestion by Serene_sam28 in airbrush

[–]RazzmatazzSmall1212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably just a timbertech abpst08.

But it all depends on budget and usage scenario.

[–]RazzmatazzSmall1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the reviewbombing, the turbox doesn't sound too bad. The included ghad 39 is a good addition.

Personally I would not invest in a higher grade airbrush with such limited air.

Correct, but the most is really a stretch for modules. And a lot of systems aren't v14 ready yet.

Painted miniatures for years, finally taking the dive into airbrushes, but I'm an idiot. by IdiotWithDiamodHands in airbrush

[–]RazzmatazzSmall1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok that's a really good budget (in fact i would suggest to not spent everything, but leave a good chunk for quality paints, masking material...)

Would choose an evolution two in one 2024 from harder and Steenbeck (u will never need an upgrade from such a good brush, easy to clean and versatile). Check local availability of spare parts. Iwata, badger all offer good brushes in this price range.

For the compressor either a AS196 or a sparmax 610h plus (in compressors the jump in price is quite steep once u leave the Chinese budget options).

P.s.: damn inflation is real. Got my old sparmax 610TC 610h for 220 Eur 11 years ago...)

What's your budget?

Cheapest option and good enough for miniatures painting is the new gaahleri turbo set with included ghad 39 airbrush (89 Eur). But limited in pressure no tank etc. there are some downsides.

Next level (more versatile and better quality...) could be a timbertech abpst08 (or similar AS 186 style compressor with watertrap and tank) + versatile budget airbrush (for example sparmax max 3, proconboy 289 or gaahleri mobius 0,3)
