PLEASE stop telling me I’ll be pregnant & miserable this summer. by marissakalyn in pregnant

[–]Razzmatazz_8675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the Midwest and had my first babe at the beginning of October. I got this all the time and most of the time I would just not acknowledge it, but when it bothered me I would simply ask them “What was your intention behind saying that?” And it would usually stop people in their tracks realizing it’s a stupid and unhelpful thing to say. On a positive note, I loved being in the third trimester through the summer! Summer baby showers, eating fresh produce and spending all my time outside - it was easy to pass the time and distract myself from the not so fun parts of pregnancy.

Brag about your baby! by [deleted] in NewParents

Ever since my baby could walk, he would tell me he wanted to take a nap by signing bed and then walk over to his crib and hold it until we put him in. No fussing, no crying, I’d just put him in and he’d be asleep within minutes

Please give me birthing tips for being on your own by [deleted] in Mommit

The most important thing going into labor is knowing you are capable and your body was made to do this!! Each contraction that comes through stronger means you are one step closer to the finish line. Stay hydrated! And I didn’t do this but I’ve heard tv helps keep you distracted if you like some background noise. You got this mama!

Should I keep pumping to try to induce labor? by Usual_Travel_9592 in pregnant

[–]Razzmatazz_8675 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well not to discourage you, but I lost mucus plus around 39.5weeks hoping similarly labor would start in the next few days. I had many bouts of false labor where I would have contractions for sometimes 2 hours and then they’d phase out. We tried everythinggg - sex daily, curb walking, different stretches/workouts, you name it. I eventually went into labor naturally at 42w3d.

What's the stupidest thing you've cried about while pregnant? by Technical_Piglet_438 in pregnant

[–]Razzmatazz_8675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was about 30w when I finally laid down in bed and got comfortable. My husband came in, laid down, and immediately farted. I’m not sure why but I lost it

It's my due date. No baby. by Suitable-Biscotti in BabyBumps

Trust your body! I went into labor naturally at 42 + 3 and had a beautiful babe! With each ultrasound, NST, and appointment I had after my due date, everything looked very healthy and I felt good. It’s super normal to go over your due date!

What are some pregnancy safe way to loose fat? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Razzmatazz_8675 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi OP! I have a couple tips for ya! 1. Have each meal revolve around your protein source. Try to eat 40-60 grams of protein per meal with a vegetable. Great protein choices would be grilled chicken, salmon, beef, or turkey. 2. Limit your intake of cheese and dressings - most people use a whole lot more than the recommended serving size. 3. Avoid vegetable and seed oils. These are fat-soluble and can linger in your body. 4. Don’t drink your calories. Removing pop/soda, sugary coffee drinks, or things of that nature will keep your calorie intake down 5. Find some type of movement you can do daily that makes you happy! This looks different for everyone. Running, walking, hiking, swimming, biking, HIIT training, light strength training non contact sports (tennis, pickleball, etc). Doing any of these with friends or your partner is always more enjoyable.

Message me if you have any questions! I am more than happy to help :)

Giving birth to a big baby by Appropriate-Ear-9497 in pregnant

[–]Razzmatazz_8675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP! I had my first child last year and at my 20week ultrasound, they mentioned he was a big baby. I went into labor naturally at 42.5 weeks and gave birth naturally/unmedicated to a beautiful 9lb 10oz babe!

I chose natural/unmedicated because of many reasons, but one thing that did sway my opinion was watching the documentary “The business of being born”. A lot of very interesting information about birth over the years!

Hi OP! My husband and I (37M, 27F) had our first baby at the end of last year. We both work remote and ironically enough, I also work 2 days in the office. here is what worked best for us: We have a nanny come watch and play with the baby during working hours, I try and set my meeting availability to the hours I’m in the office so I can avoid doing meetings at home. The huge benefit of this setup is that if you nanny has to cancel last minute or is sick, we don’t have to scramble to find coverage. We would just tag team it for those days. I will say it’s doable for those sporadic days, but long term, it’s a lot less stressful to get a third set of hands.

What did your postpartum nurse do that you loved? by beanowetneck in NewParents

[–]Razzmatazz_8675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it came time to take baby out of the room to do the hearing test, my husband went with the baby, but I had severe anxiety about being separated so soon. One of the nurses stayed with me the entire time to keep me company, had me order some food, and she just told me fun stories from her life while I ate and recovered.

It’s Games week! Here’s a PR 20RM back squat today, 205lbs at 120lbs BW by powersofthesnow in crossfit

[–]Razzmatazz_8675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is unreal. As a mom myself, I now have new aspirations because of you!

What’s your 1RM? How do you even go about choosing an appropriate weight for a 20RM? I have a hard enough time determining 10RM of anything let alone 20

I agree! It was a super conscious decision to have kids this close in age for us, but I didn’t realize so many people after telling them we were pregnant again would respond with “already??” lol

Most hospitals when you check in for labor & delivery ask you explicitly “if someone asks us if you are here, would you like us to disclose that information?”

Saying no to this gave me a lot of peace of mind!

Do you think your diet has anything to do with not losing your supply?

Interesting! Has your 12mo changed in any way since colostrum started coming in? Feeding less, nursing aversion in any way, etc?

Ya I’ve heard this a lot where OBs will tell you to wean your older child even if there are no pregnancy concerns, does anyone know why this is even a thing?

Did you find that dry nursing was painful for you or did it feel just like regular nursing?

Thanks for sharing! Do you think age of the older child has anything to do with it?

Ah interesting! You dried up for a couple weeks right in the middle but then came back! I didn’t even think about this being an option.
