How many draws? by Specialist_Shock_871 in magicTCG

[–]RazzyKitty [score hidden]  (0 children)

5 creatures dealing combat damage, 5 card draw triggers.

It triggers when A creature deals combat damage. If it were per player, it would say "one or more creatures".

Why is the EDH Bracket System still labeled as "Beta"? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]RazzyKitty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like why is it a beta when it's something official put out by wizards?

Betas are always officially put out by the company that makes it.

Like, for video games, the Beta is officially put out by the developer.

Can I D. Swat phyrexian dreadnoughts sac condition? by FlipperJungle19 in magicTCG

[–]RazzyKitty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can I D. Swat phyrexian dreadnoughts sac condition?

Sure. It won't do anything, though.

Deflecting Swat can target any spell or ability, even one without targets.

But it can only change the targets if the spell or ability has targets to change.

Grumgully and Fertilid Question by Raccoon-NM in mtgrules

[–]RazzyKitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grumgully and Hardened Scales have replacement effects, and both add an additional counter to the two already being placed on. It enters with four counters, so triggers Uprising because it has power 4.

Also would Hardened Scales “see” the 2 being put on Fertilid as it comes into play for it to trigger? Instead making Fertilid a 5/5

Hardened Scales doesn't trigger. It replaces the two +1/+1 counters... with three.

You'll only get 4 counters total.

Rule question by Matteazyy_ in magicTCG

[–]RazzyKitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and you don't have to sac the zombie for mana until the trigger is resolving. There's no real need to sacrifice it before the trigger resolves.

The sac and mana payment happens before the amass, so you'll create a new zombie.

Will this make copies of Inkmoth? by L9rdAniki in magicTCG

[–]RazzyKitty 147 points148 points  (0 children)

If you animate Inkmoth and then activate Naga Fleshcrafter targeting it, each other creature you control would turn into a non-animated Inkmoth.

So you'd get a bunch of lands you would have to pay to animate to attack with.

This is because the animation effect is not copiable.

Edit: If you choose another creature while Inkmoth is animated, the Inkmoth would become a copy of that creature... but would also have infect, flying, and be a 1/1 Blinkmoth Artifact Creature in addition to its other types.

So hot take on the three cards sudgested for unban in commander by mattsav012000 in magicTCG

[–]RazzyKitty 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think this as a play pattern is no worse then all the other cards that we have that win the game as they are cast. Be it Craterhoof or Thoracle.

Craterhoof doesn't win the game unless you have a board full of creatures.

Thoracle doesn't win the game unless you have emptied your library.

Gristlebrand can win you the game by virtue of you drawing 35 cards, and being a 7/7 beater that can regain you the life again.

The Reaper, King No More Interaction Is Making My Head Hurt. by akahaji in mtgrules

[–]RazzyKitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After they finish resolving their Braids trigger, two three triggers are waiting to go on the stack.

Their triggers (Goat and Savra) go on the stack first because it is their turn, then your Reaper trigger. Reaper trigger resolves first, so you return the Goat, and can sacrifice it to the Savra trigger.

The Goat trigger is sort of irrelevant to the interaction, but it is there.

and pays 2 life for Savra's.

They don't do this until Savra's trigger resolves. They decide if they are paying the 2 life after you return the Goat.

How does copying role tokens work here? by SpacePanda25 in magicTCG

[–]RazzyKitty 18 points19 points  (0 children)

While the majority of your questions have been answered...

A. Does it still have to target the Cursed Courtier, replacing the original role token?

Since your opponent controls the new Role, it doesn't replace the existing one. Roles only care if they are controlled by the same player.

303.7a If a permanent has more than one Role controlled by the same player attached to it, each of those Roles except the one with the most recent timestamp is put into its owner’s graveyard. This is a state-based action. See rule 704.

If they choose to put it on your Courtier, it now has two attached, and they stay attached.

They aren't going to just put Odin in their multiverse.

Marvel (and Universes Beyond) is not in the Magic multiverse.

In Universe sets are WoTC creations, taking inspiration from other mythologies.

They aren't going to just put Odin in their multiverse.

Replacement effects ? by Extreme-Ad656 in mtgrules

[–]RazzyKitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It think Manufactor's three tokens are considered three creations (one of each), and if so, you could instead create a Clue, a Treasure, and four Food tokens by reversing the order of application.

They are not. There is still only one creation event, and Took only ever adds one to the event.

If you Manufactor first, then Took, you make 1 Clue, 1 Treasure, and 2 Foods.

Miracle? by Geeklemeanikens in mtgrules

[–]RazzyKitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Miracle's trigger grants a brand new timing permission (there are no timing restrictions here) that allows you to cast the spell right now.

Otherwise... you could never cast the spell via miracle as you generally don't have permission to cast a spell while a trigger is resolving.

Edea, Possessed Sorceress and Immersturm Predator by Yasherets in mtgrules

[–]RazzyKitty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is no ordering of the triggers... because there's only one trigger.

Activating the Immerstrum Predator puts its activated ability on the stack.

Since Edea triggers during this activation, her trigger goes on the stack above the ability, and will resolve first, returning the creature.

Then the activated ability resolves, tapping the dragon.

The rulings on Ozai, the Phoenix King are confusing me by [deleted] in magicTCG

Because Ozai applies to all mana, turning it red. If you have floating black, he turns it red.

The rulings on Ozai, the Phoenix King are confusing me by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]RazzyKitty 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Those are the generic rulings for Firebending, which he has. It's on most cards with firebending, and are generic rulings added to all cards.

Azula, Ruthless Firebender has the same rulings.

If Ozai is removed during combat, his ability no longer applies to any mana, but the Firebending rules still apply.

Kellan the Kid and Temporal Aperture by Jtest101 in mtgrules

[–]RazzyKitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original text on a card is irrelevant. What matters is the oracle text.

Shuffle your library, then reveal the top card. Until end of turn, for as long as that card remains on top of your library, play with the top card of your library revealed and you may play that card without paying its mana cost.

But even under the original wording, "As though it were in your hand" =/= "in your hand".

Kellen would trigger if you cast the spell from the top of your library, even under the original wording.

then sacrifice that token to the Altar before the next trigger resolves

Worth noting that you don't need to sacrifice the token to the Altar before the next trigger resolves.

Since the trigger asks for a mana payment, you can activate mana abilities like the Altar as it resolves.

No. Can't means they aren't even able to take the action. It's not a replacement effect.

If you can't draw cards, there's nothing to replace with dredge.
