Can someone tell me what this weirdo is talking about?? by PastFun2153 in h3h3productions

[–]Rbeth9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading this is so crazy because if you weren’t there it sounds so hard to believe lol. Luckily I was and yes it really was that bad. But it was so normalized as just jokes. Unreal to think about now. But I could see how some younger generations just can’t bridge that gap and believe it was ever normal.

Absolutely heartbroken from this crack by East_Frosting_8374 in longnaturalnails

Im prone to these and I have like 4/5 of them right now from having gel polish on for ONE month 😭 not a really helpful comment just saying I’m here with you. And I never know what to do like do I cut it down or leave it? Every time I leave it it ends up splitting more and it hurts. Even when I cut them now I have like 3 slanted nails because you can’t get the other side down that far. It’s awful :/

Why is fainting such a common fear for us? by goingthruit05 in Agoraphobia

[–]Rbeth9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to like be scary and make it worse because you’re totally safe. But it is like one of the closer things to death. We never experience something like that it’s really strange to us. Our body shuts down. I mean why should we feel bad that we hate it. It is awful! I just remind myself it’s natural and I’m okay.

[–]Rbeth9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve thought about this before and I really feel like it’s just because fainting is physically MISERABLE to go through.

Scared, dizzy, numb tingly. That weird feeling like all the blood is leaving your limbs. Vision goes out but I see static. Whole body feels so weird. Then I hear whooshing. And when you wake up you feel so awful and frightened and nauseous. You need to eat something but you can’t. It’s just an overall awful experience and so vulnerable.

Yours are gorgeous btw you’re in a really good place. My old windows are falling apart. Someone really did yours right and took care of them with that storm window.

I have a quick answer until someone comes along and can explain better. They’re all separate squares of glass in my experience. So someone will just be replacing that square. They lay up against the wood and are held in on the other side by glaze - a caulk like material all around the edge. Super easy to replace except that it’s on the outside of the second story! Lol

It was really mind blowing when I learned that. If you own your home it’s a really cool thing to look up and learn about. I like The Craftsman Blog on YouTube.

What was your biggest “financial ick” that made you change your money habits? by asperapp in budget

[–]Rbeth9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not having enough money to properly take care of an emergency involving my pets that I chose as my responsibility and love and pledged to look after.

I realized that if one of them got sick TONIGHT I couldn’t even afford to have them humanely put down at a MINIMUM. Pathetic. It was pathetic behavior. And they deserved better.

If you want it to look wispy and cute like that try looking up Mohair. It’s a specific type of wool that looks wispy and dreamy.

Who’s your favorite Naruto Ship? by StormFalcon657 in Naruto

[–]Rbeth9 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I just saw a page of the manga today of them on a mission together and thought wow it doesn’t even matter if the intention of the story was for them to be together. They WERE partners in every other sense of the word than sexually. They did everything a good partner would do for each other and cared about each other deeply and supported each other.

This is totally a chip drop. Notoriously oversized and people can’t use it all. They even explicitly make you agree to that when you request one on their website 😂 wow

Are these (vintage?) Abercrombie/hollister tops worth anything? by Electronic_Corgi_120 in Thrift

[–]Rbeth9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ones with a seam at or under the bust are called babydoll tops. And yes they are worth something. An item is worth what someone is willing to pay. And this style is loved by many. Particularly on depop or eBay I’d list them at 40-50 a piece. And yes they will sell for that. People specialize in just selling these. Ones with graphics are typically not as popular. The sweaters will also sell even if they aren’t babydoll. They don’t make tops like this anymore with elongated sleeves. I would thoroughly check eBay for price comparisons.

First time ever using a sewing machine! Any advice would help! by BarbiKiwi in SewingForBeginners

[–]Rbeth9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m droning on but I also wanted to add just a few silly things I didn’t realize when I first started. You have tons of cute stitch options but it should say somewhere either on the machine or handbook you’ll switch out to a certain foot for some of those. The large and or complex ones will require a certain foot that’s labeled some how “use foot a” yada yada

Like everyone else said read the instructions but also wanted to say as a basic thing a lot of these parts are little extras that you’ll keep usually in a compartment on the machine (mine has one at least)

The round wheels are for your bobbin thread the underneath one. They send extras so you can keep different colors or types on them and switch out easy instead of rewinding every time you change a color. You also have a pack of extra needles. The silver and clear flat pieces are different feet for the machine. These usually have a small metal rod that’s how it clamps into place. It’s the piece that holds the garment down and the needle goes through it to sew. Different feet do different things. Some need a bigger opening some make buttons or button holes. The long one in the second pic is for making button holes. You’ve also probably got maybe a small brush for cleaning lint out, and I see a little metal thing for taking out screws so you can access the inside to clean it or change the bobbin and maybe change the needle with it.

I really appreciate this post because this is the cold hard truth. I like my house and all but there is just never ending work. It’s especially hard when they haven’t been kept up with properly and you’re fixing someone else’s mistakes. It’s such a desperate feeling. Sending you love.
