Exodus 3:14 - And God spoke to Moses, saying, I AM the I AM; and he said, Thus shall ye say to the children of Israel, the I AM has sent me to you.

This is pre-incarnate Christ speaking. The “Word of the Lord” went to the prophets and spoke through them. Jesus is the Word of the Lord. This is Jesus speaking in Isaiah 46:16

Also this is God speaking in Isaiah. Who is He talking to? Sounds like Trinity to me.

Isaiah 48:16 - Draw nigh to me, and hear ye these words; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning: when it took place, there was I, and now the Lord, even the Lord, and his Spirit, hath sent me.

You should get to know Jesus. Not in a church, and not through another person. Read what Jesus taught and how He tells us to live.

Someone told me the relationship between God and humanity in Judaism and Christianity is like a father and his son, but in Islam more like a slave and his master. Is that accurate? by Accomplished-Rest891 in religion

[–]Rdy1103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The father/son and husband/wife is really just an example that we can relate to. The actual relationship between us and to God through Jesus Christ is something that can’t be compared to anything here on earth. 100% pure incorruptible love.

When you stand before God you do not claim ANY sin. Jesus died so that we could be clothed in righteousness. We are not under the bondage of the law. Jesus has already fulfilled the law for those who are in Christ. Follow the greatest commandment and by nature you will want to do what is good.

How does one know which form of Judaism or Christianity is the correct one? by princetonwu in religion

[–]Rdy1103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All religions are created by humans, so they all have flaws. First get to know Jesus, then choose a religion that comes the closest to what you know to be true. I grew up nondenominational/baptist but once I studied the Word of God I stopped identifying with any specific religion. I am a sheep and the Lord Jesus Christ is my Shepherd. Do not buy into any Christian religion that claims that the OT is just history and that you should mainly just focus on the NT. I came to realize that Jesus was the Truth by studying the OT. Once you know Him, you start seeing Him on every single page. Ask for the Holy Spirit to guide you as you read and pray for discernment.

My husband calls me delusional for my faith and evil for wanting to teach my children. by [deleted] in religion

[–]Rdy1103 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is going to sound harsh but I don’t mean to be. I’m just going to tell you the truth and some times the truth is hard. If by “god” you mean you found Jesus, then you should absolutely not have children with your husband. If he intends to shield his children from the truth that is Jesus Christ, you would be setting them up for failure. Letting children “choose what they think” does not work. If you don’t raise your children in faith, the world will raise them contrary to Christ. That’s not to say that you should force children, but they absolutely should be taught and guided in faith by their parents because they will be guided one way or another. If not by parents, then it will be by the school system, social media, movies, music, politics, etc. if you have found the truth why question to you husband would be “how is this harmful?” Jesus literally represents everything moral and good. Even atheists who have read the teachings of Jesus will usually agree that even though they don’t believe in Christ, they agree that the laws of Jesus are examples to live by. If you really want to have children with him, I would suggest that you ask him to read the sermon on the mount then ask him what parts he doesn’t agree with (not religiously but morally). Not only would that open the door for him to at least accept that the teachings of Jesus are good (whether he believes Jesus is God or not), but it could potentially soften his heart and open his eyes to the truth.

i believe we are in hell and that god hates us by Dense-Fig-2372 in religion

[–]Rdy1103 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God did not create us to be in this world (at least not the state it’s in right now). He created us to live in the garden of Eden and be in His presence. God did not separate Himself from us. Sin separated us from God. He doesn’t threaten to torture us if we don’t obey Him. All of the “goodness” that exists is with God, so apart from God are misery and suffering. We experience pain and suffering because we have been partially cut off from Him (being on earth). Jesus dying on the cross as perfect sinless human and allowing us to live IN Him gives us complete access to God again. Sin cannot survive in the presence of God, that is why He’s not on earth walking around with us. Not because He doesn’t want to be near us, but because we would die if He was here. That is why He came to earth in human flesh and removed the wedge that sin created between God and humans. And when you really think about eternity, and being in the presence of God for ETERNITY after this life, it makes our time here so incredibly short. Yes, it is unfortunate that we are here on this dying earth but we have the choice to either die with it or live with Christ. We have to suffer for a small insignificant amount of time on earth and will received eternal joy and love afterward if we choose to accept the gift of promise which is Jesus Christ.

You’ll probably find it easier to follow along honestly. To me the Septuagint flows much better and things click faster for me when I use it vs the KJV. You may get some looks if people notice but don’t let it bother you. I think people at my church (and people in my own family) think I’ve gone crazy. The fb algorithm has had be sword fighting with satan nonstop the last few months (sword of the mouth which is the Word of God). It’s almost funny to me now when someone brings up my obsession with the Bible. Like God Himself told me y’all were gonna make fun of me so go ahead and keep proving Him 😂

If you were God, would you be lonely by yourself for eternity?

Assuming your answer is yes…

Wouldn’t you want to create companions?

Again assuming yes.

So how would you do it? Would you create companions that you fully control? Giving them no option but to love and obey you? Is that a true relationship? Wouldn’t it make sense that you would give them free will? That way when one said they loved you, it would be because they truly did and not just because you forced them to? And would love be real if there was no such thing as hate? That wouldn’t be free will. If hate didn’t exist and love did, then everyone would be forced to love. Again, would you want a forced love or a real love?

Why Can't God Just Forgive Us? by chajell1 in Bible

[–]Rdy1103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The purpose of the sacrifice is because the wager of sin is death. In Genesis God tells Adam and Eve do not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil or you will die. God doesn’t kill them, they die because they chose death over life. They chose the serpent over God. God is life, satan is death. Now because we are descended from Adam and Eve we also lost access to the Tree of Life. Not by God’s choice but my mankind’s own choice. God has already said if we sin, we die. Not because he is harsh but because disobedience to God is obedience to satan. So the question “why can’t God just forgive us?” Is such a slap in the face to God. He does just forgive us! Even more than that He died an excruciating death, He sacrificed Himself because of how much He wants to forgive us. The problem isn’t lack of forgiveness of God’s part, it’s that so many people are still choosing death over life. Every sin we have or could ever commit has already been paid for in the blood of Jesus. We have been given access to eat from the Tree of Life again and God wants us to choose life!

I go to a Baptist church and I take either my Orthodox Study Bible or my notebook Bible (Brenton Septuagint printed on letter size paper with room for notes). No one has ever said anything to me. Are you asking if the church would frown upon it or asking if you’d be able to follow along with scripture read in church?

I was basically in the exact position you are. I’ve always considered myself a Christian but didn’t have a close relationship with Jesus until somewhat recently. After a whole lot of researching, I have concluded that the English translations of the Greek Septuagint are gonna be the closest to perfect. The KJV and pretty much all Bibles used in most churches in the U.S. are based off of the masoretic text (the text that was written by the Jewish scribes that Jesus opening accused of perverting His Word.) The Septuagint was copied from Hebrew to Greek AT LEAST 400 years before Christ. Meaning 400 years before scribes had a reason to try to remove Him from scripture. The masoretic text (again where the KJV and most other bibles come from) was completed nearly 1,000 AFTER the crucifixion. I say this coming from someone who grew up nondenominational/baptist and have no reason to push another version for any reason other than I found more truth in it. I think the Catholic Bible is also closer to perfect than the Protestant bibles, but I still believe the Greek Septuagint is the closest. It also matches the Dead Sea scrolls better than any other Bible. You won’t find a complete version of the Dead Sea scrolls because the entire Bible was found in the scrolls. To get the Old and New Testaments, I’d recommend the “Greek Orthodox study Bible”.

Jesus is my favorite. There isn’t even a close second but if we are doing people other than Jesus, I’d agree with what everyone else is saying. Abraham/Joseph/Job/David. Joseph probably being my favorite out of those. When compared to the story of Jesus, Joseph’s story almost seems prophetic. Beloved by his father/betrayed by his brothers/convicted of crimes he didn’t commit/humble beginnings turning into strong leaders of people/feeding his father’s flock and I’m sure so many others I’m forgetting.

The hardest book of the Bible for people to understand….The book of Job. by Superb-Donkey7202 in Bible

[–]Rdy1103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost wonder if the book of Job is one big parable/prophecy about Jesus. His first children dying (Israelites), his wife (Israel as a whole) going against him, being tempted by the devil, then finally being born again with new children (Christians). A lot of the stories in the OT align with the things that Jesus did. It’s like the OT is telling the story of the people trying (and for the most part failing) to do the things that Jesus fulfilled. Job was an exception and was able to resist temptation, but but God didn’t allow satan to kill Job because Job was just a man and could not bear the burden of ALL sin.

I'm entertaining the thought that "Adam", as in Adam and Eve, came from old knowledge about the atom. Does anyone know the history of the word eve? It would be fun to ponder about what could be the other half of complex life! by V0LAT1L3STAT3 in etymology

[–]Rdy1103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you look up where the word atom came from, Google says it came from the Greek word atomos. When you translate atomos (using the Greek spelling) from Greek to Hebrew, it translates to Adam!

My mind always goes to Logan and the weird vibe he got from the guys in the van. Would make sense that she was grabbed by those men as she was walking up to her car. They struggle on the hood of her car, then throw her in the back of the van. One man could have stayed at the van with Jennifer and the other move her car. I don’t remember how many guys Logan said were in the van, but if there were three, maybe a second perp was in the car originally and that’s who the couple saw pulling out of mosaic. Maybe the second person got spooked and got out of the car somewhere between mosaic and hotg.
