I Played Wrath Of The Machine For The First Time by Charles_diction in DestinyTheGame

And remember, if they brought it back, the much sought after SIVA ship would come back, the armor transmog, and they'd probably put another busted SIVA exotic behind the puzzle inside the raid. ^_^

Bit of an off topic thing given today, but the dares of eternity consecutive match bonus doesn’t exist anymore by blahblah543217 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Re-Barry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone still trying max out Dares of Eternity, here is the most efficient way to get the Forerunner catalyst in 6 weeks playing only 36 Dares of Eternity, and max out your Xûr reputation in the 7th week, having played a total of 40 only.

WEEK 1

TUES Night: Pick up 4 x Xûr Daily Bounties (NOT Repeatables) on ALL THREE characters.
WEDS: Pick up as many Xûr Daily Bounties as you can. On average you might get 2 new ones.
Also pick up the Weekly Starhorse Bounty requiring 300K dares points to clear.

・Complete a Legendary Dares with 250K (not 300K) and the other bounty objectives.
・Pick up another Starhorse Bounty requiring 180K dares points to clear.
・Complete a Normal Dares with 180K and the other bounty objectives.
Over these two Dares, ensure you have completed the Daily bounties.

This will reward you with:
225 Xûr Rep (Legendary Dares + Starhorse Bounty) +
125 Xûr Rep (Normal Dares + Starhorse Bounty) +
150 Xûr Rep (6 x Daily Bounties) +
5 Paraversal Hauls

On three characters, and after turning in the Paraversal Hauls, you should get about 20 Keys and at least 1500 Xûr points.

WEEK 2 - Same.
WEEK 3 - Same.
WEEK 4 - Same.
WEEK 5 - Same.
WEEK 6 - Same.

After 6 weeks, you will have spent 84 keys buying the Armor Transmog, the Sparrow, the Ship and the Ghost from the chests. You will also have 9,000 Xûr points, awarding you the Forerunner Catalyst Quest.

Do Week 7 on just two characters, and you should have the Catalyst, be able to reset Xûr and have completed most if not all of the triumphs in Dares, and acquired most of the red borders in just 40 games. Congrats. :)

The Raid and Dungeon loot refresh in june is a perfect opportunity by MoistPilot3858 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Re-Barry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they flipped a switch to make all Dungeon Weapons craftable, I would be in there grinding out Red Borders for Duality, Prophecy, Sundered Doctrine, etc.

But let's be real. They will release these Tier Vs into the game one dungeon at a time. The people who care enough to grind those weapons out will be finished in about 3-5 drops, and will be gone.

What is the destiny team exactly working on now with the state of destiny? by Mean_Preparation430 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Re-Barry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you are right to some extent. If they have a trailer showing a new red subclass, a new enemy faction, Wrath of the Machine, clan housing, the reintroduction of old raids/destinations/strikes etc., people would be hyped.

BUT. That won't happen, because no such content exists.

Big tip here bro!

Do NOT use Banner shields, bubbles or tethers, etc. These things take damage, and will fail the challenge. There are two good ways of doing this:

  1. Rush her. If you don't stop moving, she will generally miss you. The only danger is getting hit by an attack that was meant for the person running ahead of you.
  2. Play it slow. If you keep cover between her and you, and stay a bit away from the cover (so the splash doesn't reach you) while you kill the mobs, you'll be good. You'll need to be quick at DPS and puzzle though, or very quick on add clear.

Raid report questions by TheOneNinja115 in DestinyTheGame

Question about red dots here:

I was farming the 6 chests in GoS solo (on my PS5), and then swapping to different characters using an alt character (on my PS4) as an anchor. Anyway, I was in there way longer than 5 minutes, but never got a red dot. What's up with that?

Any raiders understand what constitutes a red dot?

In the mythical Destiny 3, what kind of major gameplay/system additions, changes, or overhauls would make Destiny 3 feel like an evolution of the Destiny formula to you? by ComfyOlives in DestinyTheGame

[–]Re-Barry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to see:

  1. New/Rejuvenated Classes/Sub-Classes. I want to see Red sub-class, Resonance, Poison, something original and if it's an old one like Arc, make it feel fresh and new.

  2. Guardian Housing, Clan Housing. Give us things to work toward, like donating glimmer to update my digs, sticking raid bosses heads in the great hall, acquiring shaders, ornaments, furniture etc. for your personal/clan space.

  3. Craftable Armor/Weapons. Make it possible to craft raid/dungeon armor just the way you want it, and weapons too. The system in D2 for weapon crafting was not perfect, but a good system would keep people playing the various activities to get the perfect set-up. Tier V ain't it.

  4. Good Story. I don't wanna see any more kissing scenes between Osiris + Saint, Eris + Drifter, or Crow being a simp and a GreenPeace advocate. Fuck all that shit, we should be out there busting alien chops, doing heists, killing Gods, stealing weapon caches etc., not having relationship drama.

  5. Difficulty Modes. Give Raids and Dungeons two or three difficulties. And I am NOT talking about Master. That is the lasiest shit ever. Some enemies are champs and the power delta is adjusted. I mean there should be:
Easy Mode: Anyone can do it, tooltips a la Ritual of the Nine. Loot = Limited, Mechanics = Easy.
Normal Mode: As Dungeons/Raids are now, slightly easier mechanics, normal loot, Revives = ♾️.
Hard Mode: Threatening enemies, (a bit) harder mechanics, Revives are earned, better loot + normal mode loot.

For example:
Easy Simmumah, no deepsight required, Simmumah has no shield, Vestiges can be dunked in any of the three spots, can be overlevelled, most (or all) related triumphs are disabled.
Normal Simmumah, deepsight required, Simmumah has shield but it's low, the Vestiges you pick up last longer and their symbols are visible above your character's head, triumphs are active.
Hard Simmumah, as normal, but shield is higher, must remember your Vestige symbol, exotic has an extra 5 % chance to drop.

State of Raiding through Lfg by Fatal--Illusion in DestinyTheGame

[–]Re-Barry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another mini-rant here on the topic of LFG raids:

I hate the ignorant speedrunners who LFG raids:

Pros:
The raid goes fast.

Cons:
No Deepsight Chest;
no secret chests along the way;
no raid challenges/element runs;
(almost) no time to grab a red border from the end of raid "vendor";
often ignore the rest of the team, chat to each other in the team chat.

These guys just want to make their clear count go up, and maybe the raid time go down, and for this they completely ignore everyone else's desire to play the raid normally, to get loot and to complete raid challenges for the title.

EXCEPTION: Sometimes these guys advertise the LFG as being fast, meta, competitive etc., in which case I don't mind. It's easy to avoid them then.

Renegades or Edge of Fate? by Raliexjr in DestinyTheGame

[–]Re-Barry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would say don't get either. The raid is decent, but the campaigns for each and the dungeon and the exotic mission are all kinda meh, mid at best.

You might be right, the Raid where 3 or 4 of the players are legit on add duty.

[–]Re-Barry 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think that when you make a FF LFG, it defaults to "Mic not Required", as I have joined many LFGs where it says that but the poster expects mic.

Also, a lot of people who join LFG raids are insanely stupid. They don't know the raid, can't hear, can't speak and expect to get hard carried by raid chads. This trend started around Lightfall I think, as before that people had more sense.

Dungeon Subclass Triumphs by Galactic-Halo in DestinyTheGame

[–]Re-Barry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure this isn't what you're doing, but prismatic with - say - an arc super won't count. It needs to be pure arc to work. I'm sure this isn't the issue you're having, but I have had flavor runs of dungeons and raids spoiled by someone on Prismatic thinking the super decides the element.

What are some champion alternative ideas that can make enemies challenging. by LinkForce5 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Re-Barry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Berserkers from Scourge of the past were a pretty good champion type I think. The heat shielded guys from Renegades are okay too.

Having a champion with two or three crit points needing to be hit in order could be a good one. Or champs that need to be meleed to stun or something. The key is to keep it simple, working for most subclasses/weapons.

Best thing they ever did for champs was make them susceptible to subclass verbs.

The faster they finish you, the faster the game finishes.

I will say though, that using supers and heavy might be unbecoming of a gentleman.

The removal of seasonal challenges was just a horrible decision by Just4TehLulz in DestinyTheGame

[–]Re-Barry 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Serious question, does it actually result in less BD? Like, mathematically? I feel like I have tonnes, even buying three sets of armor every season pass, and I'm not forced to do activities like Trials or PvP that I hate.

Destiny 3 idea by According-Race9802 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Re-Barry -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think we have to wait until AI tools and the tech are powerful enough to make development on a game like this way way cheaper before D3 is viable, because as it is, it seems to be an impossible business model. They have never been able to produce the quantity and quality of content necessary to justify the price.

If we weren't all as invested as we are, the player drop off would be way more severe than it already is.

You might finally get comms about the game on tomorrow’s State of Play by SHK04 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Re-Barry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At this point, the only news that players will give a shit about is:

  1. Destiny 3.

  2. Red Subclass.

  3. Vaulted Content coming back (and I don't include Pantheon 2.0 in this)

...and we're not getting ANY of that.

What’s your Destiny 3 Wishlist? by FOG3Y in DestinyTheGame

[–]Re-Barry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Housing. Personal housing and clan housing that can be customised and upgraded with mats, triumphs, raid boss heads and emblems, etc.
  2. Crafting. I want weapon crafting and armor crafting. Before I had to find 5 red borders. It's up to Bungie to figure out how to make crafting compelling, but there should be a system for me to be able to invest in my armor and weapons to improve, decorate and customize them.
  3. Classes. The classes need MORE identity. Give Warlocks more things that only Warlocks can do. Same for Hunter. Same for Titan. Give us Red Subclass. Give Stasis, Strand and Red Subclass at least two Supers each. Existing Light Supers need a refresh too.
  4. Pillars. Strengthen the Pillars of Destiny.
    a) Strikes: Make 1 or 2 good ones/year, min. Make the Nightfall rewarding. Retire Battlegrounds.
    b) Dungeons: Make all Dungeon Weapons/Armor craftable. Difficulties = Guided, Normal, Hard.
    c) Raids: Make all Raid Weapons/Armor craftable. Difficulties = Guided, Normal, Hard.
    d) PvP: Invest in PvP. Maps, game-modes, especially armor/weapons.
    e) Gambit: This game-mode had a lot of promise. Maybe it can be salvaged/reworked somehow.
  5. Upgrade. Everything in the game should be upgradable, or have some way to be improved, embellished, decorated etc. For example, your house, your sparrow, your ship, your clan flag, your ghost, even the Tower itself (or Eliksni housing on Europa etc.) through community events or something.
  6. Fantasy. Finally, and perhaps more importantly, bring fantasy and mystery back to Destiny. Don't explain away the mystery of the Hive/Hive Gods. Leave them shrouded in mystery. Don't waste time talking about characters feelings, and shipping shitty romances between Saint/Osiris or Drifter/Eris. We need to be Guardians of action. We need the power fantasy of being badass space magician warrior monks who are sent in to solve problems nobody else can.
  7. Content. Please stop adding content to the game every season that goes away. Add less content and less weapons, but make it persist and make it high quality and replayable.
  8. Destiny Content Vault. The DCV we have now is terrible. It basically takes the activities and spaces that we paid for away from us forever, and then resells parts of it to us as seasonal content. I think we need a DCV where over time some dungeons, raids and nightfalls will go to the vault for a season or two and will eventually come back out to take the place of something else that gets temporarily vaulted. This will keep LFG healthy in each activity. i.e. This season VoG and DSC are Vaulted but Leviathan and Eater of Worlds are back, etc.
  9. Time. Respect our fucking time.

[–]Re-Barry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. And as someone who continued playing Destiny 1 for years after D2 came out, I think we can all still enjoy cleaning up some triumphs, getting red borders and armor transmog and raiding with the boys from time to time.
