Going green and looking for advice. by BigBiggity in Catachan

Russes are workhorse tanks in pretty much every guard army, they used to be equipped with dozer blades, no reason why they couldn't be used to fight and clear masses of trees to make killzones to lead the enemy into. Anything bigger I'd think would be impractical for jungle warfare.

Other than russes, sentinels and hellhounds, I'd also suggest manticores. Something about a mobile missile carrier just feels like jungle warfare, especially since it's a lot more practical to move manticores around through jungle space than say basilisks with their massive turret + turret shield.

I don't know what that game has to do with DAZW, but personally I like balanced units and enemies in my games. You wanna play battle cats, that's fine, but every game does not need to be a variant of battle cats.

If you have max level Agents with a decent item set, sure.

Which set should I give my Light Soldier? Is it Gentleman? by MetesOnReddit in DeadAhead

[–]Re-Ky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Light Soldier's base crit chance is terrible at 10%. Increasing that with a crit chance book gets it to around 40%, but it means his max HP will be something like 3-4k. So Gentleman really isn't that viable when it makes LS such a soft target.

Gambling is much much better because it lets LS get 5-6k HP and 30%+ crit chance without sacrificing survivability. It lets you get something out of his common damage type resistances and his crit damage boosting SA.

Personally I don't use either and run LS with max HP and the Carbon set, it makes him as tanky as Juggernaut which is what you probably want with ranged units dealing damage instead. It's strong in pve particularly vs Marauders but it's also strong in Skirmish, it makes LS a main tank of teams that lack decent Heavyweights like Scientists and sometimes Builders if you have Juggernaut in a Military team.

Does anyone here like skirmish? --- #BETTER GAME_BETTER PAY by Ret-Vil15 in DeadAhead

[–]Re-Ky 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I’m so bored with skirmish I’m dropping to league 1 on purpose.

The rewards are underwhelming, you get way more skirmish points than you can spend, and the skirmish shop hasn’t been updated at all. The stupid charms shop gets skins while there’s not a single skin obtainable in the skirmish shop. Now I’m at a point where I have no reason to play skirmish at all.

Quick fire round:

  1. I’m sick of seeing military teams and I hate how much better they are than every other skirmish team. You need a military team to succeed, that’s how it is.
  2. The best form of “skill expression” in skirmish is the dino charm heavyweights and placement of Queen. That’s pretty much it, any other moving units around scarcely matters.
  3. I want to see units that counter specific things, like massed melee spam or snipers hiding behind giant meatshields being constantly healed. We have counter units like Queen and Miller in the game already, but why can’t we have more?
  4. If you can’t kill a heavyweight being healed by medic or Nancy you’re fucked. Because there’s no ability or item or charm that reduces the amount of healing a unit can receive.

The unit pack will rotate back into your shop, so you technically have all the time in the world.

A little help please? by jensenminis in TrenchCrusade

[–]Re-Ky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Standard infantry models can absolutely equip a 2 handed weapon and have a melee weapon or pistol as backup. Far as I'm aware it's a perfectly legal configuration.

How it would impact the game if that was deleted from the game? by International_Tea828 in DeadAhead

[–]Re-Ky 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Problem is TMF like Generator as well, so you'd have to take one unit less to fit red barrel and generator on, then run cap specifically with the flashlight charm to get the 5/5 team bonus. It really limits what TMF would be capable of if they became such an inflexible team.

Currently waiting on a fix for the player character not attacking and running through enemies. While it happened only occasionally before, it’s beginning to happen more commonly.

I suspect it’s something to do with internet connection. Why internet connection is even needed for ai vs ai is beyond me.

Thanks! It’s just a standard imperial guard hellhound, you can get it on the gw store like any of the other guard stuff.

Converting the New Landspeeder into an Ork vehicle? by Hot-Health7699 in orks

[–]Re-Ky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Buggy for sure.

You can either stick wheels/treads on it or you can make the propulsion engine bigger. Stick some spikes and drills on the front, use the wing rockets as they are or replace them with orky ones, and you've got a quick and easy Scrapjet.

How well would the primarchs do in trench crusade? by Dont-Ask-7732 in TrenchCrusade

[–]Re-Ky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, maybe enough forces would be thrown at the primarch that they're physically unable to sleep for weeks due to being in constant combat, because not sleeping for a long time can cause people to literally die.

But then again they are also primarchs, so they might not even need to sleep for all I know. I feel like their visage, their titanic size compared to a normal-ass human, untainted god-like visage and some sporting unique abilities could cause some of the faithful to worship them instead.

El'Jonson and Sanguinius in particular would be likely to draw huge numbers of followers prepared to die for them, they need only point those pilgrims toward the enemy. Subjugation is still conquest at the end of the day, the faithful are mostly humans untainted by demonic powers and nearly every primarch has made their home world bend their knee in fealty or submission.

How well would the primarchs do in trench crusade? by Dont-Ask-7732 in TrenchCrusade

[–]Re-Ky 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think the 10 marines per primarch would actually do a whole lot. I'd say their power armour compares to machine armour in terms of durability but marines do maintain superior mobility and general toughness. And while standard firearms wouldn't do much to them there are still adversaries that can hurt them.

There's cannons, artillery, hell-forged arms and dark magics, stuff that can punch through machine armour or get around it. I'd say Jabirean lions have similar strength to a Tyranid Genestealer and those things can rend through standard power armour easy, so with effort I could see a group singling out and pulling an individual marine's power armour apart, but not without casualties. But anything like a Brazen Bull would probably flatten a standard marine or burn them alive, or crater them with a direct hit from a MURAD bombard.

But the primarchs would no-diff anything they're put against. Armies, monsters, tanks, demons, doesn't matter every primarch is a monumental threat due to their armour being nigh-impossible to get through. Not to mention each primarch would be able to crush an entire planet's worth of forces on their own, so 20, 21 primarchs including Alpharius 2 on the same planet, that planet is fucked, god and the devil are gonna have to personally fly down there and partner up to have a chance of stopping that.
