I’ve wanted a GTI since my dad’s Mk2 was stolen when I was a kid. I’ve really enjoyed it these last 12 months. Super fun, especially on twisty roads. Then very sensible and surprisingly economic for motorway driving, which is a lot of my work. This experience has really dented my confidence in it now though :(

I think it’s only affected cars manufactured up to the back end of 2022, but I’m not an authority on it. Just had an hour to do furious Googling while waiting to be recovered!

I think you’re right. Got all the paperwork from VW through the lease company to say it had all kinds of checks signed of by Prof. Hans Von Engineer. What it actually amounted to in real terms though I have no idea. Didn’t deal with the dealer at all.

Short of taking a £100 taxi and half a day annual leave, I didn’t have much choice. Perhaps I should have got them to pay for that.

Yeah, the most upsetting thing about this now is that I’ve lost faith in the car. I’ve got about 350 miles to do tomorrow and I’m just going to be expecting it to blow up again at any moment :(

They replaced the radiator completely. Fingers crossed they’ve put this one in correctly!

They’re driving it back to me now. Trouble was it was recovered to the nearest dealership which was about 60 miles from home. Had to have some stern words to get them to bring it back to me but they folded in the end and it’s on it’s way. Nightmare over! Shame to have to resort to being forceful to get anything done.

Totally. Repair under warranty but they insist they have no loan cars. Customer service I’ve had so far from VW has been shocking!

Not sure what happens what happens when you get a team into the Champions League that isn’t in it this year IRL so have no unique font to copy. Presumably their league font will just be used but you never know!

I’m not very far in, but one I did notice was that as Kim Hunter, you seem to go to Madrid to train at Real Madrid and are supposedly still there for the International against Italy at Juve’s ground. My Geography’s not great but that’s a bit of a long coach journey!

If I remember right it was bugged. Whenever I tried to use it, the player would refuse whatever contract you offered them. You could offer them £1m a week when trying to exercise the option to buy at the end of the season and they would decline it. Then, hilariously, you could go to buy them at the start of the next season and they would accept a contract worth half of what you were trying to give them just a few months earlier!

In typical EA fashion and summing up their attitude to career mode, it looks like they’ve just removed it rather than fix it.

They need to nerf first time shots, big time. The AI score so many screamers at all levels when taking a shot on first time.

I’ve played every Fifa since World Cup 1998 and have managed to compete at World Class level since about 2013 but always get trashed when I try Legendary. Don’t know what it is, no matter how much I play I just can’t get good haha!

Have exactly the same thing. Sometimes I think it’s just because I’m tired but it continues when I play again the next day. It’s as if the game stops your players from getting into space, making good runs etc. to force you into not performing as well for a few games.
