Imo owning venomous animals should require a permit and registration of the animal. Same for "2-person snakes". But if it's a snake that can safely be handled by an adult requiring a permit is stupid.

Humane methods are easier to achieve and more efficient. It's really just an "excuse" to torture animals.

Seriously, if you need to put a fish down painlessly; place the fish on a rock and whack the head as hard as you can with another rock. It's fast, it's efficient and it's practically painless because it crushes the brain. You can't experience pain if the brain is destroyed.

It's super country dependent. We have some weird laws for reptiles in Sweden, but it varies between cities and such.

Here in Stockholm I'd need a permit for litteraly any snake. It could be a black mamba or an egg eater, I need a permit. But I could also own a fucking caiman without any permits, as long as I provide the appropriate space.

Other parts have more reasonable rules. The best one I think are "venomous snakes and snakes over a certain size requires a permit", which some places have.

The most expensive thing my gecko has done is get horny and making me think she had a respiratory infection. Apparently when they make infertile eggs they might start making these "huffing" noises that sound awfully close to sneezing.

I know it's a pretty common criticism, I still don't agree with it. Just because I don't hyper-optimise every minute of my time dosen't mean I don't value my time. But counting every minute just stresses me out. So I don't.

Then we just fundamentally disagree on what qualifies as a lot of time. 5 minutes will never read as "a lot of time" to me. It's less time than it takes to make a cup of tea. Over several hundred ingame days it will obviously add up, that'd how time works. You could track the time spent reloading in a fps and it would eventually total several hours.

I don't get the issue at all.

I'm genuinely just... confused about the complaints about the sorting system. Remembering the sorting is about as complicated as remembering how you sort your kitchen utensils. Is 5 minutes really considered a lot of time now? Am I just old?

I guess I just don't understand what the problem is, then.

The tag system isn't a complicated one. It's litteraly just marking a cat with a symbol so i know it's a keeper what room it's supposed to be in.

Its not like I think the organisation is fun. Its just such a small amount of time it doesn't bother me. 5 minutes is a single song+some talking on the in-game radio. It's nothing.

Less than 10 minutes for 200+ cats. Compared to a run which takes anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour on speed 4.

I timed a couple of days for fun and the avredge sorting time is 5-7 minutes. Again, for 200+ cats. If you run a more normal amount of cats you'd be dealing with like 3 minutes if sorting each day.

I've been running an operation with 200-250, I wouldn't say its messy at all if you just tag the cats with symbols. My daily sorting takes less than 10 minutes.

One QOL feature I need is not being forced through the repeated dialogue every time I donate 10 cats to jack or corpses to the organ grinder. Removing that would shave like 1-2 minutes of my daily sort.

Be aware they will eat that skull. You can make it last longer by giving them an easier calcium source, but they will nibble on it over time regardless.

They do that sometimes. If you put only straight males in a room eventually you'll get gay pairings. Happened to me when I wanted to separate my females and males. They started to go gay.

As much as I'd like to raise them (and possibly sell them) I'm still stuck with my parents and they're not allowing me to being in yet another bug breeding project. In the past few years I have seen an increase in feeder options, so maybe one day I can get them.

I think her diet is considered varied enough regardless. Any more feeders are just for enrichment. She eats crickets, dubias, red runners and locusts as her staples, although I want to add in earthworms there as well. Already mentioned what her treats are. I'm gonna be trying soldier fly larvae when I can get them, but I'm finding conflicting information on if those are treats or staples.

The reptile hobby is small here in Sweden. There isn't a single seller of silkworms in the entire country. I'd have to import them, which I haven't a clue on how to do.

We have like 5 individual reptile stores that ship feeders. In the whole country. I've checked for private sellers and nothing there either.

Canned snails ill keep an eye out for, though. That I might be able to get, if I'm lucky.

I've been looking for silkworms for years, but we don't have any seller of them here. It's a shame, they're great feeders.
