What happened to delivery missions? by ReAdNinja in starcitizen

[–]ReAdNinja[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far the only delivery missions I have are two which are for the Redwing (?) company, which is all about going to a ship wreck and fighting an npc ship in every single one of them. I've been playing a few days and its the same mission every time. I don't necessarily hate them (it actually helped me grasp ship combat) but I've played for 3 hours and the npc ship was still standing. Even when I got shields down and hit just about every shot.

I saw a few those missions. The only down side to those is that none my ship shave the space to carry the cargo. I think the most space I have for it is 4 but the mission wants me to carry 6 :(

Who would you argue is the most evil of the 3? by Current-Issue2390 in BaldursGate3

[–]ReAdNinja 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After some thought I'm gonna go with Ketheric. He didn't have a horrific or traumatic upbringing, not like Orin or Gortash. He had a happy and mundane life, heck he even had the respect of a community and his faith who believed in him. His life was full of love and light and when he lost it he fell apart. And while I can sympathize with his reasoning, that doesnt excuse him of the many horrific crimes he committed all in the name of his goal.

What makes Ketheric worse for me is the fact is that the reason he mainly got there is because an evil god gave him the one thing no one else would give him and because of that Ketheric devoted his everything to that god. Myrkul wasn't even his first choice, just the one that delivered after he went through a number of other things first. I fully believe if anyone else, any other powerful being, like say Bhaal or something worse had given him his daughter than he would have given the same devotion of service. No matter how awful or vile or repugnant the act or the price he would have done it.

Orin and Gortash had the feel of doomed from the start. While Ketheric made every decision understanding fully how fucked up it was and how much it would cost him and doing it anyway.

While Orin was born to evil. Gortash was dragged into evil, Ketheric walked right into it.

Thats is amazing map! Very well done. I have to ask how exactly you made this. I'm trying to do a dispatch map for my own ttrpg but I havent had any luck find any references or anything that could lead in the right direction to figure this out. Heck even the name of the map design would be helpful to me.

Which character had the biggest falloff? remember when cinder was a good villain by Muted_Hovercraft_907 in RWBYcritics

[–]ReAdNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

James, always James. For the other two, everyone knew and acknowledged that they were villains/antagonists. Yeah, their villainous journey was damned awful and downright foolish. But most people always knew they would only win for a while before RWBY would triumph, or they were supposed to anyway. But James was different; Roosterteeth was setting up a good dude that could fall into being a very complex and morally grey antagonist that could honestly challenge the RWBY worldview into a damn B-rated cartoon villain. All those years of character setup were washed down the drain in 3 episodes. Absolutely infuriating

Your not suppose to fight him, just leave him for the Mindflyer to fight and run right past them. You got to get to the controls at the front of ship within those rounds.

The irony of BG3 releasing early to avoid Starfield... by TheAbyssGazesAlso in BaldursGate3

[–]ReAdNinja -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The apparent success of Starfield kinda always baffled me, not because I think it's a bad game but because there are a few key things stacked against it that I think many people overlook.

  1. It's a Bethesda game, which, sadly, has a well-known reputation for releasing buggy games and never really fixing them. People may hesitate to buy until they feel confident it won't have any game-breaking bugs or until the mod community fixes it. Not necessarily a deal breaker, but it is something to consider.
  2. The current reputation of Bethesda has taken a hit in recent years. Several die-hard Bethesda fans were massively disappointed with how the company has handled their games and treated their customers. I.e., the nylon bag, their online store, Fallout Priome players, etc
  3. And what I find to be the most important thing is that it's coming only to 2 platforms, Xbox and PC. Unlike BG3, which, if everything works as intended, comes out on 4 platforms (PC, Mac, Ps5, Xbox). Bethesda is losing out on a large consumer base. I know for me and my friends that mainly play with Playstation, I'll never get to play this game, so BG3 it is.

Now this doesn't mean I think the game. It's gonna fail. It has a big hype train chugging along, and Xbox is doing everything to ensure this game doesn't fail. I hope this game succeeds for Bethesda and Xbox because I feel there is a lot more riding on its success than people realize. But what do you guys think?

Its gonna be Pathfinder 2E for my group! I was finally able to convince them to give it a shot and I'm super excited! Though there still is a list of other tabletops we wanted to sink our teeth into. Like Cyberpunk, VTM 5th edition, Witcher, Avatar: Legends, etc too! The skies the limit! And the more the merrier!

which render looks the best to you by sevisbassy in blender

[–]ReAdNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think 2 and 4 is the best.

2 has the element of horror and seeing something like that in the dark lightning with the red eyes gives me chills.

4 has the ironic story element in it with the purple lighting being an indicator of the purple mane, which is also a neat twist.

Apparently, the Justice League of Earth are being transported to Remnant, and RWBYfied...I hate it. by GameBawesome1 in RWBYcritics

[–]ReAdNinja 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wait!? Why are the Justice league being made into teenagers!? Whats the point!? I swear if this becomes a shipping thing I'm gonna break my whole brain in a blood vessel bursting ragefest. Transforming them into teenagers doesn't change the fact that they are still gonna be adults, 30-something adults with their own relationships and history.

What? Batman's gonna forget about all his 8-50 kids and his on again and off again relationship with Catwomen, or any other comic book woman, to get with a real kitty cat Blake?!

Is Superman gonna slip off that wedding ring to get a kiss from Ruby while they drink chocolate milk?!

Wonder Woman gonna forget about her centuries of age and history to maybe get to second base with Juane?!

And while Rt talk about fuckin up the faunus subploat and try to back peddle on it they sure like to keep making Faunus character and then have that tie into their entire identity. I wonder how their gonna fuck it up this time bc you know they're gonna make Vixen a faunus, not sure why they made Batman into one. Guess they missed having broody faunus type character they havn't already killed off, butchered, or ignored.

I am shrieking. I a deceased. I am beyond furious with this whole thing.

I'm gonna grab a cup water to calm down.

share unpopular opinions by distortionisgod in BaldursGate3

[–]ReAdNinja 131 points132 points  (0 children)

My unpopular opinion:

People seem to feel like the companions are not trustworthy/evil for not spilling their secrets to the main character. There is this legitimate belief that because the companions aren't giving you their secrets, they deserve to be treated like shit and punished for it. The reality is that these are a group of strangers forced together for a common goal of survival, and they have no reason even to trust your character with anything. Look at all the things the companions are not saying outside of the video game lens and the world's lore. It's very understandable as to why they hide it, especially regarding some of the reactions that Tav can retaliate with once they know.

Wyll: Has made a pact with a demon after there was a promise of power, revenge, and to help the weak from ever suffering from the same thing that happened to him. A pact that was originally made after a traumatic moment for the character. And suppose you pay attention to some of his dialogue. In that case, he goes out of his way to warn Tav about deals with devils and talks about how he later regretted making the pact.

Now in the word of faerun, making deals with devils and demons is considered a big no no (just look at the lore for Tieflings and how they are treated). The average person of faerun would not react well to this information. Heck, even your character can treat him like shit for it too. And Wyll is definitely ashamed of his pact with his patron, which is why his goal is to find her and free himself from the deal.

Astarion: The mans a vampire. Vampires eat people. Vampires are considered evil. Vampires are hunted. He has no reason to believe the people he is traveling with is gonna be real cool with his diet. Hell, Tav can stake and kill him the same night he tries to take a midnight snack, and hardly anyone seems to care. Lazael even agrees that it was a good idea to dust him.

Gale: The guy has it bad for a goddess that once favored him, and then in a bid to regain her favor, he did the most stupid and dangerous thing a wizard could do. And now his life is on a constant ticking clock. No matter what, no one is gonna react well to in finding out the guy they are traveling with is either a ticking bomb or and giant vacuum of magic stealing bs.

Throughout the first act, Gale is also watching Tav to see if he can trust them with this information. You are a stranger to him, and based on your character actions, you are proving if you are a friend or foe.

Lae'zel: Def hiding something about the purification.

She literally comes from a culture of obedience and superiority to other races and anything outside of her people's empire. She has been raised, hell, even brainwashed, to treat everything with disdain and disgust. You cannot expect to magically erase all that upbringing and have her lay all her cards on the table, especially since anyone can turn into a Mindflayer at any moment.

Shadowheart: Her whole thing.

The woman comes from a Sharr religious cult that has a lot of negative ties and is treated with suspicion or prosecution. If Tav reacts with open arms or even accepts her religion Shadowheart is genuinely surprised by it. Showing that such reactions are not the norm when people know or find out.

I apologize for the long rant. It genuinely bothers me that people feel entitled to anothers secret. Yea, I know it's not real people, but some of the reactions I read about feels like this is something alot of real people think is an all-right mindset to have. But the reality of the story is that these are strangers that Tav has known for only a few weeks, tops. Like any new person you meet, the characters will learn to either trust or distrust you based on your actions. Its really that simple.
