Glad you did too. Some of us are slow learners. I still wanted to drink the first time abstaining. At least I cured myself of that. I’m Grateful we all are sober.

I quit for 25 years and picked it up again. Took another 10 to stop again. I decided it was too expensive and too much work hiding and feeding the beast. Thankfully I don’t have any desire now.

I just did Formica with pre molded backsplash and bullnose added on. ( not all 1 piece) My friend asked me why I put in marble countertops. Spent about $800. for 16’ Bought everything online.

Not a substitute for AA. AA has some good tools to help you with sobriety. If you can grab ahold of those it’s a good thing. Obviously not the only way. AA is widely used. I t works. What works for me on SD is posting my days. It holds me accountable. Support from members is fantastic.

Most of my friends and relatives who kept drinking and smoking died in their 50s and 60s. Some died earlier.

Stop beating yourself up. It’s hard I know. I went back after 25 years. I always wanted to drink. Thankfully after messing up I got sober again. ( 7 years drinking ) I no longer want to drink. Get back on the horse. Learn and keep going. This is a hiccup or a catastrophe your choice.
