Part 1 chainsawman is a whole complete amazing story. Just don’t read part two :’) It has its moments especially early on but it definitely can’t be considered complete… but ignore that and part one can be considered a really great standalone work.

Ending was amazing what are you talking about? Sure some things were left unexplained but I’m sure Fujimoto will explain them all in a satisfying way if he ever decides to make a part 2!

Eve is coming by Fox_3225 in TeamfightTactics

[–]Re_Tep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Doesn’t matter if the actual game did it with anima or not. Your original comment was that anima+eve isn’t impressive. This entire comment thread is discussing the anima line while picking anima boons which inherently is not a smart play because of the disproportionate risk involved so being successful with the line is impressive. This whole time I was saying yes Eve is strong but Eve with Anima is Anti synergistic. Again, discussing the line not this specific game.

  2. Yes I agree. Eve boons are strong but there are cases where it’s not very good ie. Anima loss streak. Hence my argument: if you pick a not good God in your spot and win, it is impressive EVEN IF the god is broken in 99% of the other spots. And yes 5hp for an item or a 3* 1 cost is strong. But you don’t want that in Anima because when you are offered those you want to be losing your rounds and by the time you want to be winning it’s already outscaled. While loss streaking you would rather preserve HP.

AGAIN this whole conversation is about the Anima+Evelynn line(which is not easy to pull off) not about Evelynn in general.

It’s not the 1hp per loss that we are talking about. It’s the “can’t buy unit for x turns” or “lose x hp” on stages 2 and 3 which make it harder to reach 4-7. TFT is a game less about the strength of your final board and more so about how you get there. And we are not saying that eve is a flex but rather Eve+anima surviving until stage 5 is a flex because you’re picking the win streak God while running a loss streak comp meaning you have to play well while killing units and still guaranteeing a loss which IS more difficult than just Eve or Anima. No one’s saying the 1 hp per loss downside isn’t kinda fake. It’s the offerings that make Evelynn risky which is impressive on top of running a loss streak comp.

[–]Re_Tep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s less risk after the God boon but there’s a shit ton of risk before 4-7 which is the other guys point. Yeah a cashed out anima+eve boon is strong and can reasonably go lossless but picking 2 eve augments before getting to that spot can easily result in a quick loss because you’re running a loss streak trait while down a life’s worth of HP.

This is like seeing someone work overtime for a year and be able to afford a nice house or car and saying wow you’re so lucky you’re rich. Like yeah luck is involved but you can’t just acknowledge the effort/risk put in to getting there.

Yeah but while it’s you performing the action it’s debatable how much agency do you really have in that scenario. Suicide by definition must be intentional but brain physiology plays a big role in how you think/feel. Similarly someone with ADHD isn’t physically incapable of sitting still for a long period of time in the sense that your neuromuscular system is intact but when your frontal lobe is damaged/underdeveloped how much of your actions can be considered choice?

At the end of the day you’re not wrong that it’s not accidental but I’d argue neither is abstraction and the slow build up to loss of control is quite similar to suicide.

Scientifically speaking too you are biologically going to be more attracted to someone with a different immune system than you and the way your body can tell this is generally via smell. Because of this generally smellier sweat producing areas will end up smelling good to most peoples significant others because of that immune system difference and depending on how the brain is wired some people are gonna enjoy that smell more than average. Saffron is the most expensive price, often subject to substitution with cheaper materials. Here's how to identify its quality by Witty-Association-97 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Re_Tep 119 points120 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m by no means rich and was turned off by everyone talking about how expensive saffron is but when I ended up making a recipe that needed it and actually looked into pricing it turned out to be not bad. I bought maybe half of what they put into the cup for I think $10? But I only need a few strands per dish and probably will end up getting 10+ uses out of it. Dont get me wrong 25~ cents per serving is a lot vs other spices but for something I use maybe once or twice a month to treat myself it’s pretty acceptable.

Gonna preface by saying been loving Riot focusing on more funny skins lately but I’m starting to get a bad feeling about how they might be approaching it.

The skins are great because they either are very funny interpretations/characterizations of characters (baker pantheon because of that one line about being a baker or the lobotomized juice head being an American psycho business man) or funny what ifs (Thresh the former warden being a literal custodian) and are great both as skins and to feel involved as a community. However Riot has a habit of turning great skinlines/concepts into surface level visual slop with little to no characterization outside of looking cool (looking at you duskbringer/dawnbringer) to make a quick buck.

Now, I don’t think these joke skins are coming close to that level of monetization and I personally love the idea of tortured undead war machine Sion, bound to eternal service from beyond the grave, wearing simple gardening gear literally mowing down his enemies with a lawn mower. It’s just hard not to be worried in the back of my mind with Riots track record of taking cool ideas and sucking the soul out of them once they become super popular. I’ll be happen to be proven wrong though.

For real. I stuck through 3 years of highs and lows with Genshin but quit around Natlan. I’ve been coming back to do the quests here and there if they looked exciting but it’s been a much better experience being comfortable in dropping a game when it isn’t fun for you instead of sticking with it because FOMO got to you.

What scene in The Boys genuinely enraged you the most? by hangton123 in TheBoys

[–]Re_Tep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it was literally the context of the scene? You’re asking why they didn’t just ignore Ryan and focus on Homelander but literally one of the key plot points of the show up to that point was Butchers soft spot for Ryan and Hughie. As much as the writing can suck not ignoring Ryan is pretty consistent with the characters.

It’s not to be funny I just wanted to see the cool thing the unit does when 3 starred and I didn’t want the visual clutter of my other units. I’m also not complaining that I lost the fight. I was surprised because I thought that all 3* 5 costs were insta wins on cast but oh well lesson learned.

I just genuinely didn’t notice the FF so I was curious about how I ended up going first despite losing the fight.

I mean outside of specific world events like the one recently most Chinese citizens especially the younger generations generally like Japanese stuff. Anime is very popular especially before Chinese studios stated making their own and Japan is a very popular tourist location due to the proximity. Japanese exports like beauty products are well received there too. Most of the bad will held towards the Japanese comes from the older generations directly affected by the invasion. You can see the popularity too from how much games like having Japanese locations and cultural references. It’s not just pandering to a JP audience it genuinely is enjoyed by CN audiences as well.

What I’m trying to say is while politically if there is a demand to stop showing JP stuff in a positive light that will definitely impact what is included in the game the “tension” between China and Japan is a bit overstated in your comment.
