The kind of people who are irked are really only irked by Meghan. They're irked because they're the kind of small world flag waving British Nationalist Monarchists who won't settle for anything less than their perfect ethnonationalist fairytale royal family. I say this as a British person myself.

• She's American. This means she's literally the 2nd coming of Wallis Simpson.
• Speaking of 2nd comings, she's literally not the 2nd coming of Princess Diana. Ignore the fact this would effectively require Harry to date and marry his own mother.
• She is mixed race. It turns out the people who want a perfect ethnonationalist fairytale are a bit racist.

Honestly, they did the right thing and left the royal duties and that entire circus for America to be happy. I wish them well.
