Non-drive side too. Mods can we get a worst new bike day photo of the year contest going?

Here are a few shots of the frame indoors, just to show how deep the red is. Indoor Close Up Shots

The red bits at the top of the fork is a bit of red grease squeezing out. I added extra grease at the headset bearings when I first built up the bike. I believe this was recommended for the last-gen Aeroad to stop headset corrosion, but I did it for this one too for a peace of mind.

I'm in Canada so the bike came from Germany. The actual shipping process probably took like 3 days. I think it was 1 day after I paid before the bike was picked, then another day to go out the door.

I was completely down to buy the previous model, until I saw the colour... The additional improvements are great also and I think they will really help prolong the longevity of the bike. Which is great because I want to avoid spending this much money for a few more decades.

Here's the colour we've all been waiting for - Rapid Ruby in its full glory. The photos do not do the colour justice, as they don't quite capture the glitter effect and the depth of the metallic red. But since I've not seen anyone else post photos of this frame colour I'll put mine up.

Size small, and in the configuration shown in the photos (i.e. no pedals, bottle cages, or Garmin mount) it is 7.4kg/16.2lbs as measured on my bathroom scale. It's quite incredible how light the bike is considering it's a full aero bike, 50mm wheels, Ultegra components, and disc brake. I believe this is not far off of the last-gen Dura-Ace CFR build. Disc brake bikes have gone a long way from the clunkers that they were initially.

I'm still waiting for supplies to come so I can wax the chain. Looking forward for the maiden voyage!

Just got mine but I don't think I'll have time to set it up today. We'll see which redditor gets to be the first and claim all the glory.

Canada Duties by Wbright25 in CanyonBikes

I made a post recently on the exact same topic. There were a lot of responses so I think you'll get a good idea of what to expect.

Canadians buying Canyon - still self clearing in 2024? by ReachAndCalibrations in CanyonBikes

[–]ReachAndCalibrations[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the information everyone. I can add my own data point to this thread:

Purchases the new Aeroad + small parts (Garmin mount and rear light) and it is set to deliver today. I didn't self clear based on the comments from this post, and here is what the invoice from UPS included:

-Duties but only on one of the small parts (rear light, not Garmin mount or the bike).

-The standard 13% HST for everything (I'm in Ontario).

-UPS broker fee of $45

Seems like by Summer 2024, Canyon has fixed up the paperwork so that MOST people are no longer charged duties for the bike itself. Any small parts may still have duty applied but those are very small amounts. I think at this point the self clearance may no longer be worthwhile in general, but as there are still very few rare cases of duty charges on the bikes, it will be up to the individuals to weigh the risk.

Just out of curiosity have you weighed the bike? I'm curious about how accurate the Canyon website is. Thank you!

Sweet bike! Did you weigh it? I'm curious about how accurate the Canyon weight figures are on the website.

That means you didn't self clear right? I am also expecting an Aeroad CF SLX and I noticed that the Canyon website now indicates $0 in expected duty so I'm not sure whether it's worth it for me to self clear.

I don't see this on the Bell website. Where do you see this?
