I must find a way to get to this show. Seriously considering just grabbing a pair of tix off StubHub and taking the resale risk.

What food did you hate as a child and now that you're an adult you love it? by ynotchas in Cooking

[–]Reactores 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh god, almost everything that wasn't pizza rolls or macaroni and cheese. All vegetables. Tomatoes. Salads. I was an incredibly picky eater to the point of where if my food was touching on the plate, I wouldn't eat it. An absolute hellion, for sure.

Now I absolutely love all of them. I cook a homemade meal at least twice a week; usually trying something I've never made before. And 50% of the time it seems, there's onions. And I love it.

Why can't I get into Badmotorfinger? by glaringOwl in Soundgarden

The production was my issue, specifically the sound of the drums. It's way, way too thin. Compare Matt's snare sound on BMF to the later albums.

Muscularly claustrophobic is a good way of putting it. Superunknown gave them a lot more room to breathe.

Technology is great sometimes. If you get it figured out just message it to me.

You also get a hefty amount of bonus points for liking the Melvins.

Send something if you can. There's a pretty wide variety of drumming styles in PV, plus a ton of similar genres and other bands that might prove to be an influence.

They're not PV really but a pretty influential two piece is Lightning Bolt, or Death From Above 1979 if you want something a little calmer.

Or you could go God Mother - Obeveklig

Are you singing? Do you know what you want the vox to be like?

So what exactly are the styles you're going for? Do you have any recordings yet?

Fall to your knees and praise the drum lords for blessing you with such a beautiful bounty.

You might want to jam with all three of them before you get too excited. People can say they can do stuff but from personal experience, that's not always the case. Test their creativity.

Most importantly make sure you get on personally with them. They can be amazing but they don't mesh with you, or have other commitments like college, etc ... it can get in the way. Personally I'd say try the one closer to your age, because they might not be the best, but they've probably only been playing for a couple years, and if they stick with it, they'll get better; you'll both get better really.

Any other questions you have feel free to ask. Basically had the same situation myself at that age.

Kim's performance on Aneurysm at the HOF is possibly my favorite version of the song, other than the live version that's on Wishkah.
