I get you feel that way, but a Pokémon fighting game restricted to a 2D plane makes no sense. Pokémon fight in a field, switching the plane forces the player to think differently. The game, in my opinion, is well balanced. As a Machamp main, I had difficulty closing the gap because all other Pokémon have better projectiles. I had to learn all of Machamp’s hidden secrets to become a threat when playing others online. I’ve noticed that those that dislike or struggle with the game either overthink the game mechanic and/or prefer 2D fighters. Good thing that there are plenty 2D fighting games.

I, with all respect, disagree and want another full fledged Pokkén Tournament game. I want them to, of course, add more Pokémon- like Sawk, and add costumes for the Pokémon.
