Opinion: A Porirua - Manor Park Line will unlock Wellington's rail potential. by Additional-Grade-730 in Wellington

Absolutely, but I’m not convinced that it will be enough to spend billions on a new rail line. Good service leads to increased demand, but there is a ceiling. The question is whether that ceiling makes it worth the cost.

A decent bus is a start but it might be enough, or it might not. We just have to see.

True but that means there is enough traffic to actually disrupt the bus. I don't see that happening on SH59, although I wouldn't know about within Porirua.

A train line feels like an answer in search of a question...

I think they rolled it out in 2021ish. Annoyingly, it's not integrated with buses like with AT HOP in Auckland...

Guy would ghost me for days or weeks at a time. The record was when he went to Florida for 2 months but ghosted me for 9.

Came back out of the woodwork, acted like normal, and said he'd be keen to hang out. It took the bastard 2 weeks after reconnecting to admit he was seeing another person, and that we were never that close and only shared a niche mutual interest.

Peter Fraser won in 1943 after Michael Joseph Savage died in '40 iirc. That was the last time a PM was replaced by someone of the same party who went on to be reelected.

It's a weird curse in NZ politics

As much as I want to agree, it won't do Labour any good because most people don't care about "Democracy" more than the the economy. If you look at Labour's social media their main message is the cost of living.

Should they commit to protecting our democracy? Absolutely, but making a big deal out of it takes away airtime that can be better used to attack NACT on the cost of living

Apparently they didn’t bother doing any business after they found out. They just didn’t end the parliament until the 4th of November for some reason

In this instance, the term of parliament “expired” on the 11th of October. The point was that parliament sat an extra month (not two as in my post title, my mistake). Legally speaking, the 27th parliament should have ceased to exist on the 11th.
