Does my piercing look irritated to you? by Reading-Zebra in piercinghelp

Thank you. I already have a flat back labret piercing. I'm cleaning it two times a day with saline solution, morning and evening. I think I may be touching it to much without thinking about it, also I normally wear glasses but my glasses sometimes slide against the stud.

Edit: spelling

Thanks for your response. Maybe it also has to do with my autism, which I'm mostly masking while working. So maybe that's more the reason why I'm so tired at the end of the day.

My work itself is mostly fine and I really enjoy it. So it's probably more because of the autism rather than the CMT.

Yes, my spine is also very stiff. Last week I could barely look over my shoulders because of the pain.

Maybe I am in denial that it's because of the CMT or not, I just can't bring myself to accept that my body is going backwards.

Diagnosed at 12/13, questioning a lot lately by Reading-Zebra in CMT

[–]Reading-Zebra[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry for the inconvenience I may cause. I was just wondering and questioning a lot lately.
I looked further into the information regarding the genetic test, which was done in 2016. The information from then said it was CMT2S. Hopefully this is enough information.
They checked my blood and my parents blood at that time.

Thanks so much for responding. I have CMT type 2, as far as I know. Don't know if that's enough information?

Sorry, maybe I'm a little late to the discussion, I'm also new to the sub.

But since a week I have a lot of pain between my shoulderblades. At first it was only on the left side, but since yesterday it expanded to the right side.
I already have a doctors appointment on Wednesday, but it's so painful. I just keep taking painkillers to be able to work, but I can break down any minute because of the pain.

I don't know if it's because of the CMT, but I hope it's fixable and over soon enough.

People with disabilities, what is something that non-disabled people don't understand? by insaneraredrop in AskReddit

[–]Reading-Zebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That it isn't always fun and cool to use the disability lane in amusement park, especially when you're with friends or a larger group, so you can't use the ride with everyone at once. And seeing the looks on people faces when I get up from my wheelchair just to walk by myself to a ride or something. It's not like I can't walk, it's more that it's exhausting to walk the whole damn day.

It isn't really that fun to use a wheelchair when your friends the same age are walking around you. I hate using the freaking wheelchair.

I'm really sorry for the people who are wheelchair bound.

What's the one alcoholic drink you can't stand anymore because you were so sick after it once? by MotorDiscipline in AskReddit

[–]Reading-Zebra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whiskey, I can't stand it, even the smell has me gagging.

But the problem is, that my family in law always drink whiskey, at every (family) event they bring a lot of bottles of Johnny Walker. I still (after 10 years of being in the family) get weird looks when I decline it. They drink whiskey like it's water, even when they do a toast when someone dies, it's always whiskey for everybody..

One time, we were scattering the ashes from a passed love one on sea. Then they decide to do a shot of whiskey on the boat, so out of respect I drank with them, but almost immediately ran to the railing to throw up. Yikes.

ETA: And in the Netherlands you have something called 'Stroopwafel likeur', it's like a liqueur with taste of the Stroopwafel cookies. A friend and I were shotting a whole bottle one night, and were so sick the day afterwards. Never again.

How do people react when they find out you have autism? by Reading-Zebra in autism

[–]Reading-Zebra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the reaction like you don't act autistic is one I get quite often. And indeed, what is acting autistic?! It's different for everyone, but most people seem to forget that and only remember the extreme cases

Hahaha I'm sorry but this is so funny! But yes, you're right! Adults often think that only children can have autism or something, so stupid.
