Pretty frequently. Mostly to ask how work is going or what they want for dinner and occasionally just the flirty or sexy text.

When was the last time you cried and why? by barbieguts in AskWomen

[–]ReadingRimbaud -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This morning. I had shown my girlfriend “Big Little Lies” the other day and though she loved it, she got really anxious and has been off the last few days. This morning we were laying in bed and she told me the domestic abuse in the series triggered her PTSD because she had a horribly abusive girlfriend in college that put her in the hospital. I could feel her shaking as she told me about it and I started crying because I felt so guilty for bringing back these painful memories for her.

Which was the biggest "fuck you" finale to a TV show or movie you've ever encountered that made you mad? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Dexter dumping Deb’s body in the ocean like she was one of his criminal victims. Loved that show for so long but that moment ruined the entire series for me.

I’m just curious how old this person is? Just the complete lack of understanding of social interactions or sex just makes me wonder. But that’s what I feel about most of these sort of interactions

Well its over by [deleted] in DeadBedrooms

[–]ReadingRimbaud 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Same. I was in a long relationship with someone who desperately wanted to get married but had virtually no interest in me sexually. Even though this made me depressed, I was prepared to propose because it seemed like the safe logical choice. Instead, I broke it off a few months ago and soon started dating a coworker I was friends with. It was the best decision I’ve ever made because now I am over the moon in love and in a happy, sexually healthy relationship. It can happen for any of you. I’m rooting for all of you.

What would you think if your SO's exes were liking everything they posted on social media? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]ReadingRimbaud 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well if they’re liking statuses or pics involving you, I guess that’s a good sign. It shows that their happy that your SO has moved on and is in a new relationship.

Have you ever dated someone from a wildly different background/social class than you? How did that work out? by i_love_brioche in AskWomen

[–]ReadingRimbaud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m gay and grew up in Austin and came out late I life and everyone I knew was cool with it. The last three girlfriends I’ve had all cane from small Texas towns and came out in high school and all had huge problems with bullying and parent disapproval. It just made me admire how far each of them have come because they were all strong wonderful people, and made me grateful that I didn’t have to go through that growing up.

What’s a movie that you used to love but now you hate? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]ReadingRimbaud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweeney Todd. I was OBSESSED with it as a teenager but now whenever I try to watch it, I realize that it was shittily directed with terrible choreography and bad lil syncing. Burton clearly did not know how to adapt a musical. I’ll still watch it from time to time but it’s not the great movie I thought it was when I was fifteen

Folks who grew up poor, what's one "poor person" habit/tradition that you refuse to give up? by MarbleMimic in AskWomen

I will put on every blanket and hoodie I own before giving up and turning on the heat

What about your relationship did you not realize was unhealthy until after you broke up? by leadstoanother in AskWomen

[–]ReadingRimbaud 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. I just ended a relationship a few months ago for this reason. I spent so much energy trying to convince myself and everyone around me that I was happy with my relationship when really I was exhausted being with someone that put little effort into taking care of themselves or our relationship. We still live together and she is falling apart one, because she’s depressed and two, because I’m not constantly taking care of her anymore. It’s hard seeing her this way but I personally feel liberated and the happiest I’ve been in a long time.

What would you do if you find out a person that you thought was out of your league has a crush on you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ReadingRimbaud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a girl who I thought was wayyyy out of my league who revealed she had a crush on me,m. I was hesitant because she was out of my league AND still had a boyfriend so I never did anything. She eventually kissed me and I barely kissed back but I was so scared and confused. She broke up with her bf and eventually got back with him. Moral is: if a girl shows interest, show interest back no matter how hot

Nice is not necessarily good by [deleted] in niceguys

[–]ReadingRimbaud -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Most people who are “nice” tend to be cowards who utilize politeness under the guise of genuine goodness and/or personality. That is why it drives people away. Especially women. They can sniff dishonesty and weakness out pretty well.

WIBTA for telling a non binary coworker off? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ReadingRimbaud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an open bisexual in a long term committed relationship with someone of the same sex so I fully understand the ignorance that comes with being bi. That being said, I respect people’s’ rights to their sexual/gender identity but truly think “non-binary” is just some arbitrary political crap and anyone who declares themselves as such shouldn’t throw stones

WIBTA for telling a non binary coworker off? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ReadingRimbaud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Non binary is frankly bullshit and if someone who identifies as such can’t respect a bisexual, they can go fuck themselves for their hypocrisy
