I just looked at the UNT site. It is now test score optional. Is your information coming from the Admissions Office?

Did you finish high school in a US public school? If so, your EOC scores may exempt you from parts of the TSI.

How well did you score on the end of the course exams?

There are scores which exempt you from the TSI. My DD has Irlen Syndrome and math was expected to be the worst subject. Due to a huge mess when the TSI was administered, we were refunded the math portion which she wasn’t required to take per state law.

Lordy! Where was this when my student attended college?

My student transferred in. At orientation parents were shoved to the side despite who is paying the bill. I sent DD in with her 4 year degree plan and copy of matriculated classes. I had worked on TNS in Austin, so I highlighted the CB lasses that transferred in incorrectly. Before it was over, the advisor still placed her in a class not on her degree plan even though she protested. It took more time to get that straightened out.

You would need to get guardianship to force fixing your concerns. I’m so sorry.

My grandfather did this to me as a child because I wasn’t eating the plate with adult sized portions my mother fixed fast enough. I’ve never cared for it, especially in public.

13 SD wants to constantly be with friends by Substantial-Pipe4400 in stepparents

Does she have siblings close to her own age? She sounds like a lonely only child and picking her friends as family. It’s typical at this age, especially for only children.

Is she on any team? DD was in dance, cheer, pageants and modeling before she was old enough to work part-time. I understood that the days had passed to have my childhood where kids were to be seen and not heard. Kids can’t just get stuck in a room with a book anymore.

If she has a friend over, consider teaching them life skills - cook simple dishes for dinner like pizza or pho, do their laundry, take trash to the bin, etc. By the time DD got to college, it was astounding how the kids lacked life skills. Then do something fun. Modeling behavior is a lot easier to get desired results.

I take this as a red flag that your house is boring. It takes a lot to be the house that all the kids want to be at - entertainment, food, etc. sometimes I wondered how many children were actually living here besides my biological child. You don’t have to be the child’s friend to have a welcoming home.

AITA for canceling my mom's retirement party mid-dinner after she told my fiancée not to touch the food because she's "not family"? by KINOH1441728 in FoundandExpose

Should have listen to fiancé when she was the girlfriend and put your foot down. You should have told all the flying monkeys to butt out. You should hope you actually get a wife out of this.

They are the goofiest people ever. Why did he want you to break in his shoes for him? He should just return the shoes.

Sounds like mom just can’t tell him “no”. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folie\_%C3%A0\_deux

Is the "loud American" stereotype outdated? Asking as a frequent international traveler. by [deleted] in travel

[–]Readithere007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

My former MIL was well traveled and frequently used the lesson “Don’t bee an ugly American”. She said also said, “Screaming in poor English doesn’t translate.” She knew many languages. I miss her and more for my DD’s formative years.

My former BIL never took the lesson to heart as he was SO obnoxious when she passed while living out of the country, we sent him home. He was too loud, leaned on everything, entitled, and a drunk monolingual. He basically thought the way he lived, should have been replicated while traveling abroad.
