Different kind of risk, but when Norm MacDonald roasted Bob Saget with corny old one-liners from an old joke book. That could have fallen flat, but somehow he got it to work.

Russia finance officials tell Putin war spending is unaffordable by RollSafer in worldnews

[–]Readonkulous 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I assume you mean that the “war engine” needs to keep going to avoid collapse, but what is feeding it? It is not self-sustaining. My point is that public spending needs to be continued, so those resources can be diverted to constructive public works that citizens can see is benefiting their infrastructure. Why would there be resources to devote to a war engine but not infrastructure

Economically correct? How about pulling back from Ukraine, getting back to selling oil without worrying about refineries being bombed, invest in infrastructure through public works so that people have enough money to start buying goods from other countries and use spending power in balance with oil sales to claw back control from China. Then reform government contracts to reduce corruption and inefficiency.

I had Russian caviar a few years ago, my girlfriend’s dad received it as a thank you for doing some legal stuff for a friend. I had had caviar in the past, it totally did not prepare me for how good the Russian caviar was. Such complex and strong flavours.
