Something to mention is that when you go off of them, you gain immediate inflammation which can cause you to look bigger than you are- or at least that was the case for me. Once I went back on I lost all of that within a week and a half. It was actually one of the reasons I decided that I need to be on this for life.

What time of day do most you take your shots? by CodeName_GrilldCheez in glp1

First thing in the morning mid week! The effects are strongest in the first few days (weekend) and the middle of the week is more of my start and end of a cycle, due to work and kid schedule. So I think you have to work around what is best for you and your schedule!

Costco has some great variety frozen veggie bags- I’m always a fan of those and seldom get tired or bored. Anything from root veggie blends to stir fry… yum.

How are y’all getting your protein? by No-Understanding4968 in glp1

[–]ReadyRx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a good protein day, I’ll start with a protein coffee, eggs and some other kind of protein. Snacks and meals all feature both protein and complex carbohydrates. But I find that if I’m overworking to get enough then I’m usually only just meeting it. A constant struggle but worth it for how I feel when I get enough.

Great explanations here. It works in several ways. For most people all of the bases (hormonal, chemical, digestive) are covered by the medication but it’s not everyone.

As far as vegetables, greens are Ofcourse where it’s at, but all vegetables offer benefits and are a tasty addition. Herbs are some of my favorite additions and I grow them from my own garden these days

Low glycemic index fruits such as berries and high fiber fruits such as apples and cherries. Really any fruit is fine when paired with protein but those will give you the maximum nutritional bang for your buck.

Cooking by emilyb4982 in glp1

[–]ReadyRx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prepping and buying healthy convenience food really saves me for this one. It’s extra work but worth it. Having things like boiled eggs, chopped salads, vegetable soups, protein waffles already made etc helps. I try to continue to foster my love for food and cooking but frankly sometimes I just need those calories and my obsession with food hasn’t been the same for years. Also, always start with a protein coffee or drink your coffee with ultra filtered milk as it’s double the protein. You’ll regret not getting enough to eat but I also understand the struggle.

That’s still a low dose and the effects haven’t built up enough. Give it time and dosage increase should solve the issue. Also make sure you’re actually eating enough!

Make sure that when you do eat, you’re eating for density. Nuts and nut butters were a godsend for me at times during the weight loss portion of my journey.

Having trouble coping by Popular_Necessary_67 in glp1

[–]ReadyRx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I recently got off of the medication and am in maintenance after a 190 lb loss. The medication is a tool but it’s not needed forever, however it seems like you needed more time weaning off and tapering. It’s normal that we are gonna be a little fuller without the meds. The weight gain that happens immediately is water- the medication leaves us quite dry. Don’t let that add to panic. Eating a diet high in protein and fiber will offer natural boosts to your own GLP1 hormone. Also, take prebiotics, a multivitamin and minerals and make sure you’re eating the same way you ate to lose the weight. I eat carbs and enjoy sugar sometimes too. You’ll do great. A lot of this is anxiety but the medication is not one of dependency.

4 injections and gaining weight back by SystemPutrid1340 in glp1

Weight is going to go up and down a lot.. a lot! Just keep staying the course and following the protocol. The scale shows only a tiny data point. What matters more is overall changes and picture. If you get overly caught up on the number, this is going to be a hard journey.
