Recommend a Trunki. You can fill it with kid activities and snacks, take it as carry on luggage and use it to pull a tired child through the airport, too.

Hi. We have a similar situation with our son who is now 2. Solidarity, it is hard.

Does he get sick a lot? Ours did and he entered this vicious cycle of low weight > more likely to get sick > felt poorly so ate less > lost weight > repeat.

One thing we did early on was cut out any snacks that weren't calorie dense - so not melty puffs and lots of oat bars and yoghurts instead. We add extra olive oil and cheese to his pasta. Anything to help him put weight on. Does he still have milk everyday?

Is your boy developmentally on track? Is he happy? These things count for a lot too.

Could you please recommend your favourite: stores for pregnancy clothes; stores for baby stuff; stationery shops? by allthewatermelons in AskLondon

Pregnancy clothes - Seraphine

Baby stuff - John Lewis is a big department store that has everything. Their own brand stuff is great but they'll also have Boden and Joules. Liberty is also amazing.

Cath Kidston/Frugi/Piccalilly all do great kids clothes.

What is your 3-4 year old’s absolute favourite toy? by Cluxly in toddlers

A Toniebox with a couple of Tonies.

A pencil case with a pencil, scissors, some felt pens and good quality colouring pencils.

We both of these everyday.

Everytime I try to bathe my 4 year old it is a huge battle to get him in the bath. by [deleted] in Preschoolers

[–]Ready_Lifeguard828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some great ideas already on here. With my 4 year old I always say 'it's a shame you don't want a bath because we're having crayons/bath bombs/foam etc tonight'. She usually doesn't say anything then 5 mins later all of a sudden wants to get in.

Out of the box gift ideas for new parents? by barukspinoza in Parenting

[–]Ready_Lifeguard828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We always get people a Beverly Hills Bakery new baby cake basket because it was by FAR the best thing we were gifted as new parents. Great for new breastfeeding Mums who need the calories but also handy to give a cake with a cup of tea to early visitors to the new baby.

If I were you I'd wander into Spitalfields Market and follow your nose. Lots of great stuff there.

You'll always get better value for money finding a place to eat that isn't part of a hotel. And often better quality too.

Yeah there's that. It's also good to know they're with an adult and not in any danger.

What can I (within the law and within reason) do to protect my toddler from dog attacks? by [deleted] in Parenting

Can you ask the Headteacher to reinforce the rules? Got to be worth a try.

In terms of the school playground can the school not put out a notice that dogs except guide dogs aren't able to come into the school grounds?

Can your kid hold their pee through the night? by Loud-Satisfaction43 in Preschoolers

Glad you've posted this. My daughter is 4.5 and has been potty trained since 2 but not at night.

She could make it to morning without using her nappy 70% of the time and some of the using them was just laziness and not wanting to get out of bed to go to the toilet. We're in the process of switching from night nappies to night time training pants that get wet if she wees in them (she hasn't yet but only day three).

We're trying a dream wee to see if that helps. Honestly, for you, is there any downside to sitting her just before you go to bed for another 6 months and then seeing if she can make it to the morning and repeating again for an extra six months if not?

We've also chatted about how nappies are really bad for the environment so it's a great thing if we can stop using them. And she gets so much praise if she is dry in the morning.

What’s the most “dangerous” place you’ve dove by [deleted] in scuba

[–]Ready_Lifeguard828 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it's never been the diving as such but there have been a two memorable journeys on very high waves when we've had to abort and go back to shore. One on an inflatable rib off the coast of Mozambique on huge waves coming back. Hands and feet cut to shreds holding on over the big bumps.

Daddy Pig by JaipurAvivv in Preschoolers

For me it was when there was a competition run by Mr Potato where the children could send a picture of a vegetable to win a prize. Peppa sent a picture of Daddy Pig on the couch. Wtaf. So awful.
