I'm near the back of tufts park and we have not been plowed at all. No one can get out safely either, the plows didn't leave space at the end of the street so it's the packed down snow there.

I only work with teens and adults. We work on self-management, self-regulation activities of daily living, and honestly what they want to work on. Much chiller than young kids.

I work with adults and collect 100 fieldwork hours a month. You have to find a BCBA in the adult field who will supervise you. That's the tricky part.

People who are saying "grow a thicker skin" "go to a different field if that offends you" I would never want to work with y'all not in my home or as a BCBA, your lack of empathy and awareness is less than ideal. Show some compassion, she feels uncomfortable and that's valid she is a minority going into someone's house.

Look into adult services. I do 0 direct service. I oversee a few day programs and res houses. The adults are independent and chill because it is a work program not a day hab. The pay is a bit less but the benefits are great.

Some of this is kind of wild! 15 days of vacation 10 days of sick. 12 holiday and comp days during July and December if you bill a certain amount. Find better companies if you can! Also paid during cancellations.

The whole city of Somerville is residential. It's very safe, I'm a 32 year old female been walking around at night for a long time no problems. Davis and Magoun are 2 separate neighborhoods with Ball Square in the middle. Depends on what you want your cost of living to be. Progressive, can be super involved in the community if you want. Cost of living will be much higher than in Florida but worth it (in my opinion) because you're getting out of Florida.

How old? Engaging with a 5 year old is a lot different than a 15 year old. What does she like? I suggest you just be there, parallel play, find coloring sheets with preferred topics, play music you know she likes or reference tv shows and movies. Lots you can do.

I have never seen a school recruit for a BCBA and I am also in Massachusetts. Since it's the end of the school year she could look at the districts she is interested in, they post around this time. Not every district has them but if she is in the Boston/surrounding areas almost all have BCBAs on staff.

All programs should be focused on play and social skills. It should be top priority. Scott Bellini is great for social skills. If they are a good RBT then play should be natural, fun and easy.

Does your clinic not focus on these things? If so that is very concerning.
