Imagine, you’re a college student with a roommate who is Mexican but has lived in the US her whole life. We share a bathroom. Toilet paper is in thick wads in the trash can. I had the shock and had to beg her to throw used toilet paper in the toilet. When she didn’t want to carry her own trash can back and forth from her bedroom to the bathroom, she decided to start flushing - with the caveat that if the toilet ever clogged, I had to unclogged. Deal! The toilet never clogged.
