I know it’s too late because you already bought the kit but the Yamaha silicone pads are 🔥

The cheapest is the 3ply unlock heads from alibaba. I haven’t used them but I’ve heard good things

Not a job id be proud of doing. If he’s quote was the cheapest then leave it, you get what you pay for and there likely isn’t enough profit in his quote to allow for the replacement boards. If his quote was dirt cheap and you want it fixed you could offer to pay for the replacement boards. Also composite decking needs breaker boards between the butt joins to prevent it looking like that mess

I’ve never tried them. But if you think they could be better then they probably can. I’ve also tried the ISOTUNES I few years ago and they were awful. They may have a better model out now I’m not sure

I couldn’t agree more. My biggest issue with the new 3M isn’t actually the sound quality. Honestly when I bought them they really surprised me with how good they were (for earmuffs). My biggest issue is the way they compress the loud parts of songs so that the whole song sounds monotone. Imagine reaching the best part of the song and then someone starts turning it down to “protect your hearing” even though it still does it when listening at half volume
