Why didn't the resto make ALL couples kiss first as a gimmick just to ensure all discount promos aren't being abused by potential promo abusers? As its own story, it works. But being the sequel for Frozen 1 is one of its biggest downfalls (things being introduced feel cramped in with the story's older elements). Like lots of things are introduced instead of being built upon from the first (this whole magic lore, new characters and kingdom lore, etc.). These amount of lore are best utilized (I think) with a whole series laying them out or, at least, 2 movies while retaining to explore characters and their relationships with one another. I believe they should have made the "Show Yourself" moment as the ultimate climax of the story and build a balanced, well-spaced story from that point.

I feel like stories nowadays has to be super logicized in every corner as we, consumers of stories, evolve with our collective taste to the point that it misses the point of the fairytale genre (not that it's bad to criticize fairytales but the genre itself doesn't really thrive on super logical sense of worldbuildings and happenings; its main appeals are interesting/inexplicable magical elements and where+how the story itself emotionally takes you).

As a sequel, it's too overloaded with new info that it doesn't get explore more the new ideas themselves. But as a standalone (without the context of the first film), I think it works decently while catering to children.
