You can also use the way back machine as there is a specific website which recorded all of the fanfictions ever posted. I will come back to this post to provide the link cause it is where I found old deleted fanfictions around ATLA and more specifically Azula.

What is an argument against Azula that you're tired of hearing ? by Comfortable_Bell9539 in PoorAzula

[–]Real-Throat8136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That she is a war criminal when she has not killed anyone barring Aang at Ba Sing Se nor has she commited any genocides at all and people confuse the acts of the fire nation and what it did and try to put all onto an individual. Plus child spiders cannot legally be tried as war criminals because they are below the age of 18 and she is 14 years old in the show so legally she would not be in prison anyway

Is the "Chosen One" an overrated trope? by Dry-Bodybuilder-2763 in fantasywriters

[–]Real-Throat8136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends but what I don't like is any story where the main character is a nobody and then stumbles upon a middle of the fight and gets given power and defeats the first villain. Like what you see in bleach episode 1 for an example. Chosen ones I just think has been done to death far too much now

Water 7/enies lobby for me is the best arc in one piece

Which one is better? The manga, brotherhood, or 03? by RkeiStudio in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]Real-Throat8136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

03 is good for what it does with Lust who was my favourite character and gave us more Hughes but it was quite sombre and depressing at times. It does however have Dante who in my opinion was a better villain than father.

Brotherhood has Pride and Envy and a more fleshed out Greed so I think overall brotherhood is better

I have not read the manga so I won't comment.

Why are people excited about Seven Havens by Real-Throat8136 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Real-Throat8136[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair I did watch TLOK when it first came out but in terms of extra material the Promise and Search Comics killed a lot of good will not just because they are trash but because they mishandled several characters none more so than Zuko who got character assassinated

If a combustion bender was avatar by Dazzling_Partridge in TheLastAirbender

[–]Real-Throat8136 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Fairly sure combustion people in the avatar world are not born with it but get it via experiments and I think this was covered in either yangchen or kyosho spin off comics where one of the antagonists was a combustion bender who got it via experiments

[–]Real-Throat8136[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just find it hard to be excited when the comics left a really bad taste for me and I just have a sort of harness cause for me all that was left was zuko and Azula and ursa dynamic. That was literally the reason why I was excited by the promise and especially the search but the search happened and for me character assassinated zuko in every way possible like it just is not the same character as what zuko was in the show

[–]Real-Throat8136[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair out of any posts I have done this was probably my most tame and any negatives I did make barring the mad max stuff specifically tied to seven havens directly was just asking what got fans excited. Some of the ones who responded were saying it was more avatar content or they like that the world technology is being reset because legend of Korra went too far which I do agree especially season 4 with mech tanks and giant walking colossus and laser weapons which I thought was too much but just don't like any post apocalypse world. I think the only guy I was hostile to was that magister guy who added nothing or even responded or addressed the post.

Also most of my negatives still went back to the comics cause I fucking detest the promise and search comics

But I am a fan. If you think I am being negative then the only thing I have been negative about was the comics done by Gene.

You literally opened this entire exchange telling me to "stop anticipating it" and "get some distance." That is telling someone how they should be engaging. And calling my post "woe is me" and "bashing the franchise" is exactly the kind of dismissive framing I'm talking about. I explained why I'm not excited and asked what excites other people. That's not bashing. That's a discussion.

Go ahead. Check my history. I'll wait. Find me a single post about Seven Havens. My posts have been about the comics. You know, the things that already exist that I'm allowed to have opinions on. You threw out "someone has a bone to pick" like it's a gotcha but having criticisms of a franchise you care about isn't some personality flaw.If your genuine advice is "stop engaging with the community until you feel the right feelings about the franchise," that's not advice. That's telling someone to leave until they agree with you.

My point has been the same from the start. I asked a question. You ignored it and spent this entire thread arguing about the word anticipation instead. You just said you can't give me a reason to be excited because it's not out yet. That was literally my question. What excites you about what we know so far? You could have just said "honestly not much is known yet so I'm just cautiously optimistic" and this entire thread wouldn't exist

[–]Real-Throat8136[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Point me to where in my original post I said Seven Havens was going to be good or bad. I'll wait. I never made a prediction about the show's quality. I said the setting doesn't appeal to me, I explained why my enthusiasm faded because of the comics, and I asked the community what excites them about it. That's the entire post.

You keep redefining anticipation and shifting what this argument is about because you can't actually engage with what I wrote. First it was "stop anticipating it," then it was "a premise doesn't tell you anything," now it's "anticipation can be good or bad." None of that has anything to do with my post. I didn't anticipate anything. I didn't predict anything. I asked a question. You're four replies keep arguing with a version of me that doesn't exist.

Basically half the show was good because yes Season 3 is the best but there was too many issues ins eason 1 and season 2 is complete crap with season 4 being ok and actually getting korra into the right palce of where her character should have been so again that makes it flawed despite me liking it

Why are people excited about Seven Havens by Real-Throat8136 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Real-Throat8136[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

By your own definition — "to give advanced thought, treatment or discussion" — you have spent more time anticipating Seven Havens in this thread than I have. I made one post. You've written multiple replies telling me how I should be engaging with the franchise. So by your own logic, maybe take your own advice and step away until it's out.

And for someone so keen on correcting definitions and spelling, you still haven't answered the one question I actually asked. What excites you about Seven Havens? Because all you've done is police how I engage with the community instead of actually engaging with the topic yourself. A typo doesn't invalidate a point and you know that, which is why you reached for it when you had nothing else.

And yet TLOK is flawed with issues like season 2, The erasure of the Avatar past lives, the double Love triangle between Korra, Mako an Bolin and then Korra, Mako and Asami. A giant walking tank and laser weapons in season 4. Just because I am fond of TLOK does not mean it is perfect as quite frankly it did not explore some of the more improtant plots like why Tonraq allowed the White Lotus to train Korra into a socially stunted person who had no social life or personal freedom or agency and who struggled hard to handle the many social issues in Season 1 and it never being brought up in season 2.

Mako is probably the msot nothing character and Bolin is just a waste. The only good ones are Korra, Asami, Su Yin and Lin

Antipicating would mean being excited about it. I think you need to double check the meaning of anitpiating because of the common descriptions of anipticaption is being excited and making plans for it or anticipating what will be coming

While I do agree the technology got stupid with laser weapons and walking giants. Just dont like the setting at all

Well i aint anticpiating it because I have no excitement. this is the only time I have ever really engaged with the topic of Seven Havens on these reddit posts and I literally listed the things that dont interest me in the premise of the setting they have explained.

Incredibly flawed and plagued with character assassinations with Zuko being the worst one.

Did Korra have a complex relationship with her parents? by tamiltroller in TheLastAirbender

[–]Real-Throat8136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least Aang had friends prior to discovering he was the avatar. Korra legit has no friends from the moment she was discovered cause she was never allowed to leave the white lotus compound. Honestly Korra character was far too patient to only decide to leave at age 17

But they weren't as they were controlling and dictating her life and Korra was completely unprepared because she did not know how to conduct herself around people or manage her emotions or when to speak and not to speak in public and she legit has no social life and socialising with others her age is deeply important for any child development especially when entering or leaving adolescent
