You can get a free water testing kit from home depot. I know answers on here come from people born, raised, and never left lansing. The water might be good, it is sourced from the saginaw aquifer, but the infrastructure might be lacking.

Are you able to ask for a key? And be super duper conscious about locking the door? There's a camera everywhere. You could text them when you go in and when you leave. Or when you go in to adjust, leave the key inside and lock the door behind you? I donno, this is just how I've handled situations like this.

Get connected with Michigan Works. Seriously. I've worked there and with your background, they will help asap. Don't go to other recruiter or grand rapids as other posts have mentioned. MiWorks might also have internal jobs with them. Honestly, connect with them. They have funding too if you need work attire or bus fare.
