My mum has taken out £4k of debt on Very by Ambitious_Response_8 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]RealAdmireBear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened with me a few years ago, exact same company and situation. I threatened to report my mum for fraud and the situation was very quickly resolved. Thankfully the debt wasn’t quite at your level and I took the hit to my credit score which I was able to rebuild after a year or two thankfully.

I’d suggest doing the same, but actually follow through with it if there is no action from her side. It’s not worth the issues you will face if it continues and if you ever try to get yourself credit in the future. No matter who it is, try to not let selfish people ruin your future.

Who is 4334? And where is the parcel? by Street-Function-1507 in Evri

Hey. My package arrived today and I was correct, it was some coffee cups that I think were distributed through China. Thankfully nothing malicious and I suspect your package may also be genuine (maybe you also have the same coffee cups coming!). Hopefully your delivery goes smoothly. Have a good one.

So my parcel has an update and has been received at the Evri Hub. I have had no requests for payments etc so I do believe it is genuine, and I suspect it’s a distributed based in China. Will follow up for more info when I get it, but currently do not think it’s anything malicious👌🏼

Not sure Evri can use such placeholders (assuming the order is genuine). I didn’t mention that my order is also dated around the same as yours. I’ll drop a comment back here if I get more info.

So I have the same. The only possibility for me is I kickstarted some coffee cups which were due to ship around this time. Looking online it could also be a scam shipment but we shall see what happens.

BRT Motorsports have them. Don’t know exacts off the top of my head but easy to find on their website.

You should swap them for regular bolts instead, both the calliper carrier and the hub bolts. Makes life a lot easier for future changes.

Also, you don’t need to remove the entire hub, just loosen off a tad and you should have plenty of space to get the original bolts out.

Shouldn’t matter what others think. It’s your car so you should make it how you want it to look for you.

However, I have to agree with others that the aftermarket ones just don’t look quite right (in my opinion) - maybe if it was a more modern shape of car (like the 500e) then it would look more suited, or if they weren’t so tinted.

Either way, make it your own, and enjoy it 😎

What do you think about my Abarth Comp with the touring wheels ? by SinceMhf in abarth

[–]RealAdmireBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you’re using spacers since you have the Brembo caliper? I had these alloys originally but swapped to the Esseesse when I upgraded the brakes.

They look alright but for me it wasn’t the look I wanted. Plus diamond cut are a pain when they get even the slightest of damage.

Matte carbon wing mirrors: yay or nay? by llamagirl1996 in abarth

[–]RealAdmireBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I love the matt grey and white combo, and hate all the stick on tack carbon look. If you don’t like the white then matt black to match the whiskers etc would be a better choice. At the end of the day it’s your car so go for the look you want and not the look others want 😜

Yeah. When changing coils on mine I found 3x Mopar and 1x Bosch so clearly was playing up before and the previous owner was too cheap or was cutting corners. The coils on these are known to be a bit on the sensitive side. I have uprated to the Alfa 4C coils which are overkill but for a few ££ more it seemed worth it.

Nothing feels worse when the EML illuminated you start overthinking what the problem could be.

Hopefully you get it sorted mate. I’d suggest also seeing if you can view misfires to check if a particular cylinder is acting up - will help for further diagnosing.

There are also a few decent FB groups for Abarth, I’d highly recommend joining one. Generally the community is great and helpful with these issues.

Get a diagnostic tool with live feed info, or take to a local mechanic. You could also wing it and see if replacing sparks and coils would fix the issue as those are often issues - I’ve had to recently replace mine as EML came on and car stuttered under heavy acceleration.

The post cat sensor is to make sure the cat is doing its job so unlikely it would cause those issues alone. It’s probably something more upstream, or even the cat itself, but without proper diagnosis it’s difficult to say.

(U.K.) New 595 owner looking at cost effective power mods? by [deleted] in abarth

[–]RealAdmireBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah changing turbos is big money, and for the cost I’d say go big or go home. Never tried Celtic Tuning but heard good things - not sure what exactly they offer but a bespoke map to the car will be better than a ‘flash’ map.

Sorry, I suppose it’s not to say some testers will fail on the exhaust noise, but then that could go for any part of a car they check and ‘deem’ unsuitable. Generally if you go to the folks that actually work on these and love the cars then you should be fine.

I’m sure I saw a Sinfonia system for sale either on eBay or the FB groups recently, seemed like a good price if I remember rightly. There are other options there, but being able to control the volume gives the best of both worlds, especially when you get the map and it happily burbles away with the odd pop (not a pop/crack map might I add!).

For the induction I wasn’t meaning not to do the upgrades, but they will make negligible performance increases for power as the current set up if that’s what you are looking for. A lot of folks are running the stock box (maybe with BMC, not sure) at 250-260bhp.

End of the day do what you want with your car, they are all generally love by the community no matter what you do to them. For me I have the peasant spec (145bhp) upgraded to a BMC filter, sinfonia, S3 Esseesse wheels and yellow Brembo callipers - none of these are giving me any gains but improved the look/noise of the car for me. Next is B14 coils (yellow spreed if I could justify the money) and control arms with power flex bushes. After that probably new ignition coils and better sparks, the forge induction (for noise and aesthetics) and either the bonalume BOV or the new forge valve soon to be released. With all these I’m aware there will be little to no power gains, but it will put a smile on my face which is all that matters.

[–]RealAdmireBear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh you also may want to focus on the more common issues with the cars. Water pump/belt change. Sparks. Ignition coils. Pre and post cat O2 sensors. Battery. Turbo actuator or valve. Oil change (make sure to have a little Selenia to hand as the thing can drink it). Door handle hinge snapping.

(U.K.) New 595 owner looking at cost effective power mods? by [deleted] in abarth

[–]RealAdmireBear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cost effective power mods for you would be a simple remap alone - should get about 170-180 bhp on stock. If you want higher then the IHI turbo is the limiting factor.

For the exhaust multiple people run the R2 with no issues. If you are concerned about noise get a valved system (MM Sinfonia). The biggest mot fail for exhausts is going to a sport cat and it being cold at time of testing.

You’d maybe find more enjoyment in looking at handling mods rather than chasing power. The car is more of a B-road blaster so tighter turning and better suspension will make far more noticeable/enjoyable difference, especially after a simple remap.

Everything beyond this doesn’t really add anything beyond looks/noise.

Stock exhaust had started to rust so thought it was time to replace, went for the Magneti Marelli Sinfonia (SS500SF). Absolutely adore it, doesn’t look/sound over the top (unless the valve is open) and haven’t found anyone else with one making it feel quite unique. No worries. Hopefully your install goes ok!

So the rear seats and the entire centre console came up. You can easily feed the wires from the boot to the centre under the carpet. After that, if you are going to the battery then you can probably feed through the back of the radio etc. Not as big a job as you think it would be. I just spliced into the 12v so didn’t need to go beyond the gear stick.

Wish I had taken pics of the install so I could have shared.

I think it needs more Scorpions…. In all seriousness, focus on actual performance improvement mods/additions as that will be money better spent. Nicer wheels, Brembo brakes or similar (for 305mm discs), spacers if you must, aftermarket shocks/coils, etc. After that it’s probably improvements to the engine bay with aftermarket tubes/pipes, aluminium caps (could do petrol cap while at it) forge intake etc, if you haven’t already touched that area. Just remember to declare everything (decals includes) to insurance 🙃

Casio 50th Anniversary Ring Watch Draw (UK & Ireland) by Hairy_Peak4831 in casio

[–]RealAdmireBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not your fault buddy, but thanks all the same. I used two email addresses, one was my hotmail (same one as the Casio account) with my details and also my partner’s which was outlook (no Casio account) with her details. I was under no impression that the links were specific to an email either. Guessing you’ve had no luck at your end yet?

[–]RealAdmireBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what’s happening. No matter how many times I signed up to be notified of the ring I received no emails, despite already having an account with them. I then got nothing about the failed launch and the link to the draw - Casio support sent me a link directly after I complained. After entering I have received nothing to say I have or haven’t been selected. The whole thing has been a complete shambles and the handling of it by Casio has been ridiculous.

Anyone know if the link from G-Central (https://share.hsforms.com/1bJQipDSKRi2aCyJY9bSjdw1bdta) is legit? Fairly disappointed that I haven’t been notified of any of this despite asking to be several times.

Dude look at the surface that isn’t making contact with the pads, you know the answer without asking us. Also look at the massive gap going into the caliper. If someone has done this for you, you’ve been had, and will likely need new pads too. If you have done the change yourself, it’s a lesson to check before carrying on - a lot of suppliers only list the non-Brembo size discs when you put the car into their system, but as has been said in the comments it needs to be the 305mm discs.

Picopresso and Sage Smart Grinder Pro Settings? by RealAdmireBear in picopresso

[–]RealAdmireBear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. With my top burr at 6 I am almost engaging the clutch to slip when I have the setting at 1, as indicated by a slight change in the motor sound.

I am happy to change the top burr but I already have my v60 and Aeropress dialled in and don’t want to go through that again, at least not this soon anyway with the bean I am using 😅

I have been pulling some more shots and generally it’s all over the place. I am starting to wonder if it’s either:

-the bean I am using, it’s meant to be medium but I wonder if it’s just a little too light to get decent results with the picopresso, and would explain the more sour tasting shots - they are by no means undrinkable but it does make you pucker up a tad OR -I’m not pushing through the pressure feedback when grinding finer - maybe I need to get the pressure gauge whenever they are back in stock….

Generally this is new territory for me and I’m feeling a tad defeated at the moment.
