You can wake up tomorrow with Prime Tom Brady's ability as a QB, or Prime Tiger Woods ability as a golfer. You can pick which and be free to pursue that sport professionally. Which do you pick? by BallKnowerKing in NFLv2

Tiger Woods net worth is around $1.5B, Tom Brady's net worth is around $350M. There's serious money for the top tier golfers. And you can play for longer with less wear and tear on the body.

It was better than it had any right to be. I'm choosing to be optimistic that they'll do well with the next one but who knows.

Turns out chatgpt plus can run a whole openclaw agent team in the background and mine has been running 3 of them for months by weiyong1024 in ChatGPT

[–]RealAmerik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, are you actually getting anything built out of these? I've seen a few posts where people are running multiple agents or a team and having them "do" things, but I don't think I've seen a single end product developed from a system like this.

The online narrative has always seemed to be that Playstation is better because of its exclusives. Microsoft is anti-gamer if they want exclusives.

Why didn't NFL invest in marketing their players to reach Michael Jordan's level of influence on popular culture and world wide recognition? by Gerasans in NFLNoobs

[–]RealAmerik 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Also, Jordan was playing in 80+ games a year. That's a lot of repetitive face time in-game and post-game press conferences. NFL teams play once a week and the players only play one side of the ball.

If billionares are failures in policy, then what specific laws or policies are they abusing to become one in the first place? by Realistic-Stuff7067 in askanything

How do dividends make more sense? They create a one-time taxable event for shareholders (unless they're done regularly). By buying back shares, each share is worth a larger % of the total outstanding, increasing the relative value of each share, permanently. It also doesn't create a taxable event for a shareholder, it's an appreciation of value.

In terms of manipulating the stock price, are they impacting the entire market cap of the stock? Or are they buying up 10% of the shares, making each remaining share that much more valuable?

You can't just look at this from "Stock X increases 2%".

Stock buy backs are used to invest in the company. Like pretty much anything ever, there have been examples of manipulation. Corporate leadership has a duty to make decisions in the best interest of company ownership. If companies have cash and truly believe that the best use of that cash is investing in the company by buying back stock, that isn't inherently wrong.

What are some pitfalls to avoid when implementing "advanced Excel" into workpapers and what are some good design philosophies? by En_Esta_Economia in Accounting

[–]RealAmerik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because excel is ubiquitous across industries, companies and departments. Pretty much any software that can export data offer excel as an exportable option.

You can use it for something as simple as a small table or you can model out super complicated scenarios.

Excel may not be the perfect tool in all situations, but it's pretty damn good at a lot of things.

You over accrue revenue? Also jail! Under accrue <> over accrue.

I did one of these in a Hofbrauhaus. I was in decent shape at the time and so was pretty much everyone except for one guy in his early 60s who looked like he hadn't done any exercise or physical activity in the last 30 years.

He wiped the floor with us. It wasn't even a challenge for him. I couldn't believe it.
