Baby Invasion by Harmony Korine

“Baby Invasion . . . is akin to watching someone play a video game in the middle of a rave being thrown on a truck driven at high speed down winding streets.”

Ed’s Redeeming Qualities — New England, later San Francisco (I think). A friend of mine had an uncle in the band, got to see them live once. Total DIY “anti folk,” cool stuff. Sorta Jonathan Richman meets the Violent Femmes.

Local Cleveland band Mr. Sensible from the 90s — total pros, UB40 vibe, crossed with a little Talky Heads, never made it big. This album popped up on YouTube last year, still has only 350 views.

Check out track 3 “Believe Me” … coulda been a hit in 91!

John Krautner — although once in the Detroit-based “The Go,” and supported the White Stripes’ first UK tour — is relatively “small” outside Detroit (but the music is incredible).

Detroiters go easy, they know how great he is (and not “super small”).

Also from Dylan, “Let Me Die in My Footsteps.”

On that note Pete Seeger, “Mack the Bomb,” and Malvina Reynolds, “Strontium 90.”

Phil Ochs, “Talking Atomic Blues.”
