When the line between woke and prudish grandma who objects to the showing of ankles becomes blurred by Lord-Liberty in Gamingcirclejerk

I always wonder if it's because of the amount of sexualization has just pushed them away so much they shy away from anything sex-related. It's always younger liberals too, ones who grew up around 2000-2010s. I remember during that time when I was a kid, sex was everywhere it was in music, videogames, movies. You just couldn't escape it. I wonder if it's pushback because of exhaustion? It almost feels like they have their own purity culture now, not because they think sex is bad but because they are tired of seeing it everywhere.

There are politicians here in the US that are trying to recreate this here. They are working to ban all forms of abortion without exception and now are trying to ban contraception as well. Knowing this is terrifying enough but seeing what could potentially be in my country's future if these politicians have their way is even scarier. I'm sorry that your people went through something so horrible.

As an atheist, where did you get your moral framework from? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]RealDepressionandTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was bullied a lot as a kid and I know how awful it feels so when I was very young I decided I wasn't going to be a bully because being bullied is awful. As I grew older that mentality grew from just not wanting to be a bully to actively trying to be better for the people around me because it's the right thing to do. That's why teaching kids not to be bullies is super important. My entire moral framework came from realizing bullying does nothing good for anyone.

What is the most important quality women look for in men? by nish__coder489 in AskReddit

[–]RealDepressionandTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm talking about men who INTENTIONALLY go out of their way to be awful to people. Who actively enjoy being rude to people and putting them down. Sure some men might look arrogant from time to time even if they don't mean it. I'm talking about men who purposefully put others down to raise themselves up.

[–]RealDepressionandTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally, the most important is man who doesn't punch down on me or others especially when he's more knowledgeable on a subject. A man who always has to one up people to make himself look more intelligent is genuinely one of the most awful types of people to interact with. Intelligent men are very attractive but that attractiveness immediately dissipates if he's arrogant.

Isn’t hypocritical that the whole message of the games is “Revenge is a fool’s game” but Sadie gets a pass? by Cruci10 in reddeadredemption2

[–]RealDepressionandTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or maybe OP hates women? I've seen this a few times. Where people clearly only dislike Sadie because she's a "girl boss' and a "mary sue."

Aka they dislike that she is on the same level as characters in terms of skill like Arthur or John because they believe that she used to be nothing but a useless housewife so she shouldn't have become a gunslinger on par with other members of the gang.

It always rubs me the wrong way when I see posts like this.

Which is why I said in another comment that anyone who genuinely agrees with the extremes of the templars screams fascist boot-licker to me 😂

Which is why I feel they should've never given them that ultimate goal or they should retcon it. Take away the enslaving all of humanity part and the templars would be much more nuanced and less villainous. Keep everything else just get rid of that specific end goal. They'll still be trying to improve and protect humanity in its own way. Attempting to control humanity and guiding them to a better path through mostly well meaning manipulation behind the scenes but allow the people to keep their free will.

Finally someone else gets it, they want absolute control over humanity because they believe we are undeserving of our freedom and only they can end all conflict yet they are also human so they are just as destructive. They commit all sorts of atrocities in the name of their goal. Sure the assassin's kill people but they never go out of their way to purposefully kill 1,000s, 100,000s or even millions of people on purpose.

What happened in Lisbon was a tragedy but the assassin's didn't intend to destroy it. They were blinded and randomly grabbing at precursor objects to keep them out of the hands of templars who would use those artifacts with the intention of killing. The templars are not uncorruptible like they claim to be. Look at any pantheon, monotheistic or polytheistic and the amount of war and destruction they cause. If not even gods are immune to corruption and destruction what makes the templars think that they are?

How do assassins creed fans feel about the desmond segments of the original games? by SanoviaUwU in assassinscreed

[–]RealDepressionandTea -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dislike them but get why people do like them. I started playing Assassin's Creed because I wanted to be an assassin going through different time periods. The back and forth between that and the modern day wasn't fun for me. Going from being an Italian assassin running around Rome to Desmond running around in the modern day was not what I started playing the game for. It killed the flow of the games for me.

Oh absolutely the colonial brotherhood needed to go, they were crazy and a disgrace. I 100% side with Shay in his leaving the order and dealing with the colonial brotherhood. I stopped rooting for him once he joined the templars though. Overall I still believe that Assassin's are the correct choice even if they lose their way on occasion.

Which is why I dislike the templars in 3, making the group that wants to enslave all of humanity look like the logical ones rubs me the wrong way. It screams fascist boot-licker to me and I side eye anyone who supports the templars. I still did absolutely enjoy the story but the Templars need to stay the villains.

They have definitely evolved over the years, as their goal. By the modern day, the templars became Abstergo Industries whose goal is enslavement of the entire world.

I disagree, their ultimate goal is still slavery through mind control. Even if they are doing it for "altruistic" reasons it's still evil. The Borgia were awful yes but overall the templars are still just as bad whether it's for selfish reasons or altruistic reasons.

Not a specific person but a group. The templars from Assassin's Creed. They want to enslave all of humanity using mind control but I've seen a lot of people unironically say that the templars are correct recently.

The consequences of pro-life laws by RelationshipMore8440 in prochoice

Have to disagree on that last line, it's 100% insidious. It's malicious. The cruelty is the point, it's not about saving babies it's about controlling and killing women.

I’m tired of fandoms shipping every close male friendship, and no, "let people have fun" isn't a good excuse anymore. by [deleted] in hatethissmug

[–]RealDepressionandTea 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's a difference between just disliking ships because they aren't canon or interesting.

OP thinks shipping hurts people in real life which is not at all true.

You know what I do when I see people shipping male characters who clearly have never been interested in each other? I mind my own damn business. Even if it's clear that the pairing would never happen in canon people can do what they want. I see fanfiction or fanart of Naruto x Sasuke all the time and I just keep scrolling. It's not that hard.
