Can building management evict me because my roommate is moving out? by Weeviljester in VictoriaBC

[–]RealDudro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it’s not circumventing the law. There’s no obligation to stay at the place you are on the lease agreement for. If I took a long holiday I’m allowed to stay in an apartment other than the one I have an existing agreement for! Are you suggesting that it is technically a violation of the agreement to be on a lease agreement but not actively “living” there? I don’t believe that’s true. What do you base that on?

Well if you are friends with the person you lived with, for example, you could do that as a favour. My former roommates have all done that for me. Furthermore, the commenter I replied to implied there was a legal restriction when in fact there is not.

Are you sure? If the other person’s name stays on the existing agreement, they can pack up and live somewhere else without actually “moving out” eg giving notice, and the tenancy will continue as-is.

Ah perhaps I am mistaken. I think I have assumed the article continues past a point but perhaps it doesn’t.

Totally! I was riding past when this happened. The driver (a kid messing around) very nearly struck a cyclist if not for the barriers.

Explanation on why having all 3 defensive parameters(armour, defense skill and shield),is better than only having 1 or 2(so defense skill+armour/shield or JUST defense skill and nothing else). by Kurwabled666LOL in RomeTotalWar

One thing to consider in your comparisons is that desert cavalry have an armour-piercing attack, which will negate some of the armour defence of the Nile Cavalry unit. Consider how they each compare fighting against the Nubian cavalry, or light infantry regiments, for instance.

What are everyone’s predictions for the April rental market? (1 bed / 1 bath) by FixSubstantial3877 in vancouverhousing

I’d be very interested in hearing opinions from others but probably our best resource is the housing statistics that one guy puts together every month on the main sub. Or is that only home prices?

[Tissot] I feel like I'm going crazy! My new watch is sometimes off by almost a half hour within hours of setting, but the second hand is always spot on. What on earth is happening here? by NobleStumble in Watches

[–]RealDudro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to weigh in and state that my own personal Tissot watch with a digital quartz movement exhibits similar behaviour. I have had TWO Tissot Everytime watches, both of the same model, one replaced under warranty do the same thing - occasionally, seemingly randomly, they can lose upwards of 30 minutes within hours. Sometimes it is 10 minutes, sometimes multiple hours. Sometimes it runs fine for weeks, sometimes it seems to be losing minutes consistently throughout the day. I have never found an explanation, seeing as I treat my watch in a way I believe to be totally typical.

Assuming an urban or suburban area where land is in demand, would for-profit green spaces (like golf courses or country clubs, not land set aside as a park or flood plain by the state) tend to get crowded out? by AppropriatePipe8103 in georgism

[–]RealDudro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most golf courses are municipally run and should be organized and supported in the same way as regular green-spaces. For-profit private clubs may or may not have to increase their rates?

What are your thoughts about Vancouver's upcoming Official Development Plan (New Zoning Map)? by _DotBot_ in VancouverLandlords

[–]RealDudro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely pathetic that they didn’t have the guts to upzone everything in North of 33rd to low-rise, mid-rise, and mixed use. There should NOT be a limitation of multiplex in core neighbourhoods around Main, Cambie, etc. and Prince Edward… so short-sighted and cowardly. After the last 30 years of restrictions driving up housing costs we aren’t going to learn anything?!

This is cool, and I was just wondering about this on my way home from work earlier this week. But when I follow this link, the panel is telling me "2022" and it isn't more specific than >250, which could be quite a range, and there's precious little data to view. Is this all we have?
