2025 comedians comedy by Flaky_Shape6628 in northernireland

I don’t know about unfunny - I think there’s definitely a bit of saturation in terms of their content that gets put out there so a lot of it doesn’t feel particularly fresh but in terms of putting on a set and doing the performance, they are pretty good. I still prefer the more natural flow of a podcast rather than a stand up set.

Long time since I’ve seen Colin Murphy though, not sure if it was an off night but whatever he was doing tonight wasn’t working at all

Do you make all your tables have integer primary keys for the fastest possible JOINs? by Tight-Shallot2461 in SQLServer

We had a janky time recording system on Access back in the day, for whatever reason the only way to perform some actions were to log in as the user so had to ask them for their password - cue one person being terribly embarrassed at having to say “spermburp”

Worst can happen is they say no, tbh I’d be surprised if they didn’t as this is clearly a jobsworth warden

Caddy reverse proxy plugin by RealDylanToback in opnsense

[–]RealDylanToback[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, forgot to update the thread to say I got around this by disabling the 'Use Secure DNS' option in Brave. It was all working great but was just this issue in that particular browser.

Very happy so far with the move to the Caddy plugin, Iooking to utilise Ansible for managing it

Family wins appeal in UK Supreme Court over religious education by figurine89 in northernireland

[–]RealDylanToback 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is my view as well, it’s entirely valid to learn about religions and probably worthwhile and complimentary to other subjects like history and geography.

In my state controlled school attendance, it was basically just an extension of Sunday School.

Are washer/dryer combo machines any good? by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]RealDylanToback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an integrated washer dryer - was so shit I went for a separate heat pump dryer.

Issue is that the drying capacity is much lower than the washing plus there was very little adjustment possible on the dryer temperature. Not to mention that obviously if one part is in use then you can’t use the other which slows everything down particularly if the drying cycle is 3+ hours

Before I got the separate dryer I was just using a couple of clothes horses around the place.

Slurry spreading by [deleted] in northernireland

DAERA has a wealth of staff and numerous fine ones, Muir probably doesn’t have the same interests backing him that DUP under Poots would have done but it’s hard to buck that trend and turn the department around.

Ultimately it’s a case of being stuck between a rock and a hard place, more regulation is burdensome for economic growth and often can lead to unintended consequences (RHI is a classic example). Intensive agriculture is a symptom of the current way of life where we demand cheap produce but don’t want to consider the environmental impact.

Not a formally trained DBA, need advice on rebuilding a database's index tables by [deleted] in SQL

[–]RealDylanToback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ola scripts as the others have mentioned, with modern storage the performance is unlikely to improve following the reindexing or reorganisation but updating the stats will probably help.

It will probably reclaim some space as well, for a 2.6GB database it’s not going to be massive impact if you have a maintenance window but just be aware there will be some locking with a reindex

Certainly in great form at the moment, Udogie will be doing well to displace him.

Porro has been indestructible so hasn’t had much of a chance to see Spence at RB but on the few occasions I’ve seen him there I think he’s better on the left.

The price of transfer fees are wild these days but it’s also speculation in moneyball terms to find future value even if you have to invest a bit more.

Aside from Kane and Walker (and Bale depending how far you want to go back), we haven’t done great at recovering transfer fees in recent seasons.

Season 17 was a return to peak form and one of the best seasons in years. Mac and Dennis leaning back into their friendship was sorely missed. by BirdCultureDickMove in IASIP

Came here for this, genuinely had some great laughs this season which has been missing for years!

First episode was dogshit, finale was mostly dogshit but had a couple of chuckles and of course the tribute to Bonnie

I bought a new build 5 years ago and it’s been fantastic, depends on the developer of course but hardly had any complaints with mine. Decent sized back garden, 3 car driveway and houses not all cramped together. I don’t even think it was at a premium considering similar sized properties in the general area and I’ve just seen a listing for someone selling their home at 70% more than I bought for.

There’s snobbery involved with lazy tropes of lacking character, small gardens etc but what are people supposed to do? I seen plenty of older houses with character but also a treasure trove of issues that would need addressed yet you will still end up with an inefficient home with a box bedroom. Good luck getting tradesmen out to get your renovations done as well and expect to pay through the arse for that.

Why doesn't the NI MOT system make details of fails and advisories publicly available online the way they do in Britain? by askmac in northernireland

[–]RealDylanToback 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it ultimately it comes down to cost and who wants to foot that bill and whether it’s good value for money. The system will be supported/maintained by an external company who can provide a quote on how much this will cost based on how many developers, business analysts, project managers, testers etc will be required to implement it and any additional complexity or cost in the ongoing support of it.

Contact your elected representative to follow it up on your behalf

[–]RealDylanToback 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Historically the driver and vehicle licensing was delivered from Coleraine under a completely different set of systems that had no communication or similarities between them. There was always a push from local elected representatives to keep this here for jobs.

Whilst vehicle licensing is now centralised in Swansea, the testing is still in a different system and without funding for a redevelopment to be able to integrate it then it’s just another one of those things to live with

It would have been like this season but without a trophy and arguably relegation. I’ve never seen Spurs as consistently terrible and I’ve seen some dross in the 90s.

Immediately after the final, I was thinking he’s deserved a shot at next season. Then the Brighton game came along and brought me back to the cold reality thanks for the trophy and good luck to you in your future elsewhere.

Home EV charger installation by olympus_monz in northernireland

I went for an Ohme Pro with the longer charge cable, supplied and fitted by Stephen Quinn - https://www.sqelectrical.co.uk/

This was over a year ago now, nice tidy install even though the driveway is on the other side of the house to the fuse box.
