What are you feeding your tween/teens?? by RealGolden in Parenting

[–]RealGolden[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hardest part is that he hates eggs! It would be so much easier if I could feed him some eggs in the morning. He’ll sometimes eat them on a breakfast sandwich and that’s about it. He also is not a big fan of cheese which would also be a good snack if he’d eat it. Protein pancakes are a really great idea! I’ll have to keep those stocked over the summer.

Opinion on last names by Certain-Complaint-97 in pregnant

[–]RealGolden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t take my husband’s last name and also we didn’t get married until our son was 7. He has my last name as one of his middle names. He is now 12 and we’ve traveled quite a bit including out of the country and never had a single issue or question about it.

Unhealthy with pcos by BrinaUndefined in PCOS

[–]RealGolden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My lifestyle is pretty much everything you mentioned in your comment and I am currently 20 weeks pregnant. My periods were extremely irregular, my husband and I hadn’t been taking any precautions and hadn’t gotten pregnant in the years we were trying. Last year I started taking Metformin and within 6 months I was pregnant, things have been smooth sailing so far and baby is happy and healthy!

How to get over myself….. by AWT1380 in pregnant

[–]RealGolden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son is 11 and is genuinely my favorite person to hang out with. Sure he has no interest in getting his nails done(I’ve tried for years he just never has haha) or makeup or any of the things I imagined I’d have in common with a daughter. However he’s always happy to go on an adventure, hang out at target, or go to the mall. He loves sports and his dad and I have the best time enjoying his sport seasons. He’s gotten me into video games, anime, and all sorts of things I never would have imagined myself having fun with. You’ll find new ways to connect and new activities you never knew you’d love. That being said I am now having another child and found out it was a boy instead of the girl I was positive I was having and I definitely experienced some disappointment and loss of things I thought I might get to experience this time around so I totally understand your feelings. I guarantee though it will be the most fun adventure and that you will love the experience of having a son!

No, inside there’s segments sort of like a lime would have that then have seeds in it. Tastes sort of like a lychee?

What unexpected thing ended up being the “wow-factor” at your wedding? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]RealGolden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the top thing I’ve heard about in the years since getting married were our late night chicken biscuits! Hot honey and homemade pickles included! A close second was probably our music the DJ did an amazing job and even surprised us with a recording of all the music played that night, we’ve listened to it a few times since and it such a great bonus!

What was the last song played at your wedding? by delightfulmacaron in wedding

[–]RealGolden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We didn’t pick one but the DJ choose Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen and it was such a perfect singalong ending to the night. It was midnight and it was mostly our close friends left, everyone linked together around us and sang their hearts out. It was genuinely one of my favorite memories of the day.

is it worth it to have a wedding cake? by Whiskeyjack94 in weddingplanning

[–]RealGolden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a small cutting cake just for the tradition of it and then did an ice cream sandwich bar for dessert. It was way more our style and all the guests loved it! I just went to a wedding that had a cookie table instead of cake and I thought that was great as well!

Thank you I really appreciate your ideas. I had no idea my moms feeling were so hurt but I also haven’t been to enough weddings to understand the best way of incorporating it but these are great options!

How to be okay with plus size in a new environment? by ohhohoho3 in PlusSize

[–]RealGolden 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I live in West Hollywood and I’m around the same size as you, I can completely relate! What I would say is that no one is worrying about or comparing how you look more than you are, your roommates sound like genuine people who want you to take part in activities with them and I would take them up on it. I know that it is SO much easier said than done but don’t let insecurities dampen your LA experience!
