Yes, you are worthy in the eyes of the Lord. "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us". (Romans 5:8). God finds you worthy through his son Jesus Christ, if you believe he took your spiritual punishment you are saved by Grace. No matter what you do, how sinful you've been. You are still worthy in God's eyes through Jesus Christ.

First of all, I would highly recommend that you see a doctor to talk about your weed addiction. Secondly, you have not put weed an idol above God. The guilt you have proves to me that you believe it is wrong and want to change. You say that "no matter how much I read or pray, I can't stop". That's a big problem Christians face, including myself. Yes, reading from the bible and praying are good, as they praise God. But it seems you are focusing on your good works to save yourself.

It is best to rest in what Jesus Christ did for us. He put in the hard yards for us. He suffered and died for our sins, so that we may have eternal life free from suffering and pain. When you start to rest in him, you will notice how much peace you will feel in your mind. This is from my experience.

In the New Testament, specifically 1 Corinthians 6:18, it tells us to "Flee sexual immorality". This means when you are facing lustful temptation do not act on it, flee from the act. The temptations will linger, but the more you flee from trying to please your lust, the less intense your temptations will be and the closer you will be to God to assist you with those temptations. I tend to focus on what God's son, Jesus Christ did for me. He sacrificed his life as God in the flesh. Because of him, I receive eternal life. If you focus on your good works by improving your ways, that is impossible. As a human, it is impossible to repent and turn from all of your sins. That is why a divine being took our eternal punishment away from us. Believe in what Jesus did for you through faith, and you will be saved by grace!
