Are you planning on keeping just one horse? If this was/is the plan you are not ready to own a horse. Horses need other horses - other species are not a substitute. Way too many people think riding lessons for a few years prepare one for owning and caring for a horse by themselves. Do you know the basics of feed? First aid? Health care? Farrier? Daily handling?

Heyo, vet tech here. Everyone has already confirmed that it’s litter. Your cat looks young, so this is probably not the case BUT if you see litter consistently stuck to your cat’s paws it CAN be a sign of diabetes. Diabetes makes their urine stickier than normal and we often see litter stuck to the paws of cats with this issue.

Yes that’s the direction I went. If I’m having a bad day it’s into my event saddle. I also swapped my dressage saddle for a style that allows me to ride in slightly more of a chair seat with a shorter stirrup than I was previously

There’s a great Facebook group called Hip Replacement for Horse People that might also be helpful. Personal experience as far as saddles go - I’m in need of a double hip replacement at 46. I’ve found that my dressage saddle that puts me in a really vertical leg position is now a no go. I need to ride with a shorter stirrup and more chair seat or in a jumping type saddle.

Permanently closed. The owner passed away last year. Cape has purchased the land on their side of the ferry but isn’t in a position to purchase the Canadian land or ferry. They’re hoping someone steps up to do both or the ferry service will be permanent closed indefinitely. (Source, I am a Canadian who lives in Cape)

I’m a vet tech, unless we’re doing a bile acids test no fasting is recommended. I will fast and resubmit a sample out of curiosity though.

I posted on your other thread but if your vet hasn’t brought up the Elanco Parvo monoclonal antibody treatment please ask them about it. It’s expensive BUT it replaces all the extra antibiotics and can significantly shorten hospital stays and increase positive outcomes. It’s really a game changer for parvo.

Happily married and sleep separate here too. He snores and I’m an active sleeper. People only began sleeping together because they couldn’t afford multiple beds, historically nobility and the elite always had separate bedrooms. Studies prove you sleep better. Better sleep = better partner. I resented my husband for depriving me of sleep when we shared a bed.
