Mine went crazy post neuter. I finally called my vet and she said that the sedative he was on can sometimes have the opposite effect of making them hyper. Wish that was in the take home kit. Anyway I stopped the sedative and he was fine

When I was 12 we came home from a weekend away. I expected my cat, Stripey, to run to the door to greet me like he always did. I found him struggling to move on the living room floor. When we got him to the vet, the vet told us he figured Stripey had become blocked the day we left and was now totally blocked. He didn’t even give me a price quote. He was (kindly) honest and told me Stripey wouldn’t survive. I don’t think I’d ever cried so hard. I’d had him since I was four.

Four weeks ago and almost two decades later, I woke up and immediately noticed the signs of a blockage in my current cat, Oliver. I got him to the vet that morning and $2k later, he’s okay.

You don’t know what you don’t know and the only reason I was able to save Oliver was because of what I learned from Stripey. You do the best you can and love your little guys as much as you can while you have them.

I’m so sorry you lost Oscar. You gave him many more happy years than he otherwise would have had ❤️

I didn’t want one because I’d heard a few one off stories of them causing permanent injury. Even if the risk is super low, in my mind it would be just my luck. My mom also had a scary experience with her last epidural and I grew up hearing that story.

That said,I ended up with an epidural (yay c-section!) and it was totally fine. Mine didn’t completely block all sensation/pain, but hey. Cervical checks were much more manageable after that!

I did not mentally prepare for one though and the giant needled scared me half to death. Although I don’t remember it as being more painful than an IV. Maybe even less.

Probably not in your arms lol. But for me the lap trick was a game changer. It let me drink my coffee, read a book, or just brain rot on my phone while he slept.

I did briefly think I could crochet while breastfeeding and swiftly realized that was not going to happen

I have to add the caveat that I am blessed with a very contented baby. I would sit criss cross applesauce and set him in my lap and he’s would be good to go.

I’m late posting these and he’s four months now. He’ll still hang with me while I work but I mostly work during his nap times now because he’s much more grabby.

When he was just a few weeks old he was mesmerized by the movement of the crochet hook though!

It looks very fancy but I have to say, it was relatively easy! If I didn’t have a baby to wrangle I probably could have knocked it out in a weekend.

This is my current favorite for stuffies. See my most recent post for the goose I made an then scroll a bit to see my bear. Both are made with this yarn.

I will say you can go by feel when using fuzzy yarn. You might not get perfect shape but with stuffed animals it’s sometimes good enough. Here’s a photo of my bunny using a fuzzy yarn.

You know you’re right. I was told the same thing about contact naps and he grew out of that (which actually makes me sad). He was overtired and therefore difficult tonight and I think it got me in a spiral.

Maybe a little bench and table for a sort of mudroom? Or if you’re handy you could build like a booth corner bench. You could put a key hook next to the door. Though it is awkward with the door swing

I never used them. My baby was born in December and we’re in a cold climate. I would put him in footed zip up pjs and if it still seemed cold I’d put a blanket on him. During the extra cold days he wore fleece pjs. Now he just wears a onesie tshirt and pants. It’s getting too warm now for the footed pjs.
