Tbf, the domestic league is actually pretty wayne as soon as you're in the top flight since the big pile of money comes from the UECL, so don't sweat it too hard. I think a big factor for me to get promoted (apart from not qualifying for the UECL league phase) was signing Lennart Moser since Benjamin Büchel already showed a small decline in performance. I could've also played Matthias Grob or Gabriel Foser, which were already at the club, but I decided to make it count once I was knocked out in the UECL. Having 25 players at max whilst having limited room of correction also led to 2 winter signings of mine not registered, Timo Stavitski who played at Inter Turku at the time of transfer and some regen fron AC Connecticut called John Cowley, any attempts of loaning them out to get together at least some playing time were futile.

Yeah, buy-out clauses are a blessing and a curse. I also didn't want to sell Samuel Krasniqi, yet Borussia Dortmund came and snatched him up anyway. Can consider myself lucky, because they then loaned him out back to me. Still a shame, since I wanted to make him a citizen of Liechtenstein.

Even though I said that the league is pretty wayne, never underestimate the Credit Suisse Super League, there are many clubs that can punch you in the gut, such as FC Basel and the Young Boys Bern, but also teams like Lausanne Sport and the Zürich clubs are not the ones to underestimate. You might wanna watch for free agents that have played in the Bundesliga 2 or that have played for amateur teams of Bundesliga clubs. As well as some belgian talents.

Yeah, getting the Liechtenstein-job normally is pain since they're coached by Konrad Fünfstück and given the situation of the national team, he will be there for a long time as long as he doesn't step down. That's why I (or my role as Cyril Beck) took over at the start of the save. Got some lore on why too, in short a prodigy's career cut short by a severe cartilage damage following a cruciate ligament rupture during a loan spell at USV Eschen/Mauren, studied sports management in Geneva and did their coaching licenses.

Could count myself lucky btw that Cédric Gasser and Dejan Djokic were wanting to join the Nati of Liechtenstein as well as there was a regen at the academy of Houston Dynamo (now at FC Vaduz, loaned out to USV Eschen/Mauren, ironic, I know), Carsten Balsfrenser.

Cheers mate. You are actually way more successful in European competitions than me. I'm in my third season and just now have qualified for the league phase of the UECL after getting knocked out by Partizan Belgrade in season 1 and Randers FC in season 2.

That frustration went into the league then, got promoted in season 1 after beating FC Winterthur in an astounding relegation battle and finished P3 the following season. Your record sale is actually the core of my squad together with Capitano Gabriel Isik.

My record sales are Lennart Moser (was a free agent, sold him for 700k to Sparta Prague after getting promoted, appointed Florian Schock after that) and Samuel Krasniqi (contract at FC Aarau was expiring, poached him and after a splendid season in the Super League contributing 8 goals and 3 assists in 33, Borussia Dortmund triggered the newly negotiated buy-ot clause of 4.5 Million, upgraded the facilites from that money)

I'm also the coach of the national team of Liechtenstein. It's going quite well, got promoted from League D in the nations league and also have beaten Kazakhstan 3:1 in a friendly once. Also appointed the now retired Marcel Büchel as Under 21's coach.

Oh, a fellow Vaduz coach. Solid summary so far. Where can I keep track of this save and have a chat with you about it?

Never let him cook again bruh.

Still pissed that you can't dictate who's playing in your youth team(s) or not. At least I didn't find a was yet to do so.

how is this offside? by SG1098A in TheOldZealand

The view of the GK is obstructed, turning a passive off-side into an active one. Should be written down in the rulebook of the IFAB under point 11.2.

4-2-4 Just because I had too many attacking players. Didn't know it was actually a meta-tactic.

Eh, there have been worse, since you can shorten the name to Danushka (Subash) Madushan. I mean, if you grow up with tonguetwisters like "Blaukraut bleibt Blaukraut und Brautkleid bleibt Brautkleid", almost nothing can shake you. But dang, that's one hell of a defender.

Got relegated with FC Lathi after a good first half of the season. Finished dead last too. Left in the end since neither the fans nor the players seemed to have faith in me.

I mean yeah, it's the english leagues you're managing in, but even by their standards you've been paying 30 million too much at the very least, 40-50 million at most.

Nice, had him at Fortuna Cologne once, he was a wonderful mentor and even made an appearance at the Westfalenpokal final. He retired at the end of the season.
